Caulk the Wagon and Float it.... Honestly, I'd be terrified to do this :D

Pro tip: pack a spare engine air filter before you do this :D

Fast water entry can also bend heat shields and spall liners. For example, the ones on the side of the fuel tank can bend, then rub against the driveshaft.

I’d do it only if I was actually trying to escape from something like the Armageddon. Wouldn’t do it as an activity.

^Yeah deep snow has other things to watch for, like covering the front grille and blocking the radiator.

Thankfully I don't have to worry about snow at all lol but after all of the comments about the water, I feel like I have been playing Russian Roulette with my truck.
I have to be much more careful with what I attempt, while also still being able to get a feel for the capabilities of the truck.

Water crossings are a fun part of off-road driving, but as others have said, you have to do it right and follow up afterwards to make your truck is cleaned up.

I was very, very lucky here. Neurons got crossed for a second on the approach and I applied the rule for mud – have some momentum going in – to this water crossing instead. The “breaking wave” is the water hitting my hood scoop. No damage.

This is after most of the junk on the grill fell off.

Shoo, I have definitely had some water go over my hood like that too. Thankfully no debris like that but in hindsight, after these comments, I feel very lucky to not have effed something up.

Good stuff. Water crossing are fun, but avoid the splashing. Just slowly ride the wave!

Diff breathers are a good idea. For water approaching the top of the wheel I'd recommend a quality sealed snorkel as well.
Also, if your rig sees a lot of muddy water crossings you may find yourself changing out your rear seal in the future, which is a very painful job. These are just some considerations.

As long as you avoid the splashing anything less than 20" of standing water is good to go imo. Just be safe and walk the line first if you can't see the bottom.
Glad you're getting out there and having some fun. Enjoy the journey!

An unforeseen incident from a few months back while leaving the beach during super high tide. Nearly 10 minutes of slow driving in varying water depth on this trail, almost shit in my pants.
Love my Runner for pulling us through! Not something that I want to relive again…
