Heated Steering Wheel

Let me know if this has already been posted before. I recently moved to a place that has winter and snow. I have a 2022 4Runner TRD Off-road. I have heated seats, heated mirrors and rear windshield. From my cursory understanding of the packages Toyota offered that’s the cold weather package, so it should come with a heated steering wheel. If I buy an aftermarket one, do I need to buy the OEM switch or do most aftermarket ones come with the switch.

 

I would check out what's Included W/the aftermarket package 1st.

Toyota put heated steering wheel on 4Runners starting from 2023 model, my 2022 was without it. At least for Canadian TRD Off-road which called Premium package in US. Factory switch is on dashboard under start/stop button and and it's not very convenient place to have it. If you are getting aftermarket one, you can put switch in better place.

 

Does your 4runner have a remote start?

If not there's a few different companies that offer them(aftermarket). I looked into the heated steering wheel. But it seems like a pain to install. So I installed the remote start, which is great for the cold mornings. Just a different option.

 

yes, from the Toyota app (for a fee) and from keyfob (for free)

 

The key fob start is only a feature on Canadian Off Road models. In the US, it will only work on Pro and Limited.
