Also added some splash guards under the bash bar to keep mud and debris from collecting inside the bumper. Just some ABS plastic zip tied in place. Should work well enough.

    Stock so far…..
    Or a Lexus LX.
    Or an Escalade ESV.

If he thinks the 4R has insufficient storage AND needs to be more comfy on the highway, there aren't many options. Oh, and if he's unhappy with the fuel consumption on the Runner, he's in for a surprise on larger vehicles with more powerful engines.

Love it, did mine too a few weeks ago. Looks so clean, especially on our white Runners.

If you referring to me, I am actually looking for a used LX570 in the long run. And it cant be a substitute for a 4runner. They are in 2 different classes. The 4runner will stick around as a beater and I am never getting rid of it. Also the mileage isn't that off between the V8 and the 4runner and the mpgs do not bother me.
Also, if you read my post, the word I used was highway fatigue.

I think he was referring to the other guy dumping his 24 Pro for 47k because it's a "piece of shit that sucks for everything"

I'm with you, sir. That's exactly why I leave the hitch in place on my vehicles.
Yes, I bonk a shin once in a while, but I've got nobody to complain at but myself if I do.
People can call me "that guy" if they want to; I'm okay with it.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
It never bothers me if they say I'm "That guy". Good. Why do you want to park that close to me anyways or follow me that closely in traffic? If I didn't have this thing in all the time people would back into me or park close to me and damage my bumper.

Only I can cause damage to my beloved 4Runner! Not you! :crapstorm:

Twice that I can think of -- maybe more -- I've been rearended in the danged drive-through. And I've been happy I left the hitch in place, for that very reason.

    - - - -

Back on topic: What did I do to mine yesterday? Got it filthy again, thanks to snow flurries and that nasty brine stuff the state spreads on the roads. Yuck.

I never tow with my 4R...but I do need to access the roof a lot. To that end, I keep one of these in the hitch receiver:

I'd seen that four-way log-splitter looking device before. I'd definitely back way off from that other thing!

Finally installed a real dashcam instead of using an old GoPro. Bought a mirror power adapter to make installing easier. I just have to figure out where I'm mounting the rear camera.

The one I posted? It’s just one I saw long ago online, guy also made one that is just a literal spike sticking out of the hitch, looked to be about 10 inches long, iron or steel, couldn’t find a pic of it though.

Picked up some oil filters this week and changed the oil this morning. I also retapped and recut the threads on my stripped skid plate bolts. I'm looking to swap out the mounting points with rivnuts and stainless bolts of some kind. Biggest pain every time I take the damn plate off is those chintzy bolts.

Did brake pads replacement on all 4 corners after we got back from forks. 67k miles. Went with powerstop. Easiest brakes ice done so far. The hardest part was lifting the front end. Went ahead and bled the brakes while I was there and topped of fluids. Also cleaned maf sensor and throttle body. Ready for the next road trip.
