884s or 885s on stock 4runner results

    Hello.

    I have scrolled through what seems like hundreds of posts reading about how much lift the OME 884(2884) springs will yield vs the 885(2885). Ive seen charts sent by how much they yield based on stock weight and looked at pictures. I feel like the more ive seen the more confused ive become as I have seen people claiming anywhere between 2-3 inches of lift on stock 4runners with the 884s. And people gaining 2.5-3 inches of lift on stock 4runners with 885s. It seems like everyone has something different to say, even though they are all driving 4wd stock front weight 4runners. I hope to garner 2.5 inches of front lift for my 4runner and would rather not use the highest perch of the Bilstein 5100 if i can avoid it. (I feel like this will bother me if I dont do it all at the same time and keep stock springs). What is the true choice to make to garner around 2.5 inches of front lift on a stock 4runner. AFTER THEY SETTLE. Not to be overdramatic but I dont want my ideal lift for 2 weeks for it to then settle and drop a half inch forever. If one of these options starts a little higher but then settles into the perfect zone then that would be OK.

    Simply want to run 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the back if I can. Already fairly set on the B12 coils for the rear. If anyone could send pictures of their experiences I would greatly appreciate it as I feel like seeing what it might look like in real life is 10x more helpful than reading the numbers. Sorry if I came across as harsh or overdramatic I promise im not meaning to im just getting more and more indecisive the longer I look. Thank you

    I run 884’s w/ 5100’s on lowest 0” perch, close to stock weight in the front. It settled more than I’d like. Down from 3” to 2.5” lift, probably.
    I’ll be leaving the 884’s in but clicking up to the first groove to get more height, once I add a dom style front bumper.

    Generally with 2884s you'll start on the bottom perch. If it settles out, you can always move the spring perch up. That's the beauty of Bilstein 5100s. @djwantke has the right plan. The 2885s are going to be way too much unless you have a heavy steel bumper and winch set up.
