It is! I also like that it's 6 quarts and it's priced pretty well too. They claim it works both for low mile engines and high mileage engines so I'm going to keep running it in whatever vehicle I happen to own unless given a reason not to.

What’s different about Havoline Lifelong Full Synthetic is that, unlike competing high-mileage offerings, it delivers outstanding performance at any stage in a vehicle’s life, from brand new to over 75,000 miles.

I was poking around to learn a bit more about this and ran across the above snippet in what was obviously a marketing announcement over on BITOG.
It kinda cracks me up that they sort of insinuate that 75,000 is a shitload of miles.
Apparently this product is exclusive to Walmart.

I put that in my Tacoma with 196K miles on it around 700 miles ago and the engine is noticeably quieter already.

Rehashing the topic of road trips, got back from a cross-country holiday trip... 2k in two days and 5k over the last 3 weeks and I couldn't be happier other than the fact that the headwind in TX and NM kept me out of OD most of the leg. Has me second-guessing my Sherpa rack and I'll be figuring out an easier way to pull the awning off before trips. The rack by far gave me the biggest MPG hit so I'm wondering if a 3/4 like the new Rhino Rack design might be a better fit.

Definitely making me feel better about 4.88s now that I saw it could sit north of 3k for miles on end and be perfectly happy.

How much of a hit with the Sherpa? I am looking at swapping out my TRD Pro rack with the Crestone and was actually hoping I might improve aerodynamics a bit - the PRO rack sucks.

It's very speed dependent. The hit at 60 isn't so bad but at 80, I'm floating 15, maybe 16mpg on a good day. Before the rack I could get 18 fairly regularly even on the ATs.

Where it killed me was the obvious wind drag coming across with the headwinds... I was getting under 14mpg in NM/TX because I was in 4th basically the whole way just to do the speed limit. The turbulence noise and dead bugs all over the rack tell me it was absolutely catching the wind.

Agreed. This still doesn't solve the problem, just gets us close. (which might actually be even more irritating)

Cool. That's about where I like to pick 'em up and push for 300K. If you can keep the rust at bay, send your old junk my way.

Given the cheers emoji, I think you took it in the intended spirit. But just in case, that's my slang for pretty much any truck out there. No offense intended.

My Raptor had the pano sunroof and it scared the hell out of me. Ford now actually recommends twice annual maintenance on it to include cleaning and lubrication. IMHO it is a $$$ time bomb. I have owned 14 pickup trucks in my lifetime (counting my wife's 5 Silverados), and the Raptor was my least favorite of the bunch.

This isn't a "What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?" but more "What was ALMOST done TO YOUR 5th Gen 4Runner today?"

I bought this obscenely large trailer hitch when I bought my 4Runner, for reasons JUST like this. Now, before you jump to conclusions, I was parked there first. When I parked this morning the spot behind me and beside me was empty. In fact, the parking garage was almost empty.

When leaving work I noticed this Crap-maro parked kind of close, then I looked closer and saw this: (The 4Runner had zero damage thanks to the hitch)

Got the annual state inspection done. They were happy seeing a well kept high mileage 4Runner. The owner drives a 4th Gen.

I don't want to be that guy, but you're being that guy. People shouldn't have to look for a 12 inch black cock sticking out of people's vehicles at shin height when they walk behind a vehicle in a parking lot.

I don't want to be that guy, but you're being that guy. You totally ignored the fact that the driver of the Camaro was outside of his parking spot. You can see in the picture that he was over the line. I was parked inside the lines.

I'm not talking about the Camaro, I'm talking about all the... let's just go with people to stay civil, who leave a hitch in when they're not towing. The Camaro is wrong in a different way but I doubt he was going to hit you. If he was there would be way more damage.
