A girl ran a red light last night and hit me on the passenger side. I fishtailed, hit a curb, went airborne and landed on a utility pole. I only had 9000 miles on my 2023. Waiting on the insurance to let me know whether it is totaled.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Regardless if it's totaled or not, it only matters that you're okay. The 4Runner is just glass & metal. It can be replaced.

....make sure you grab anything and everything out of the truck (or off the truck) that you can right away. Once the insurance totals it, it'll be next to impossible to gain access to it.

Yes! But I am concerned that the air bags didn’t deploy with the front impact to the pole

Woah, that looks bad. Hope you’re ok. Wonder why the airbags didn’t deploy?

Glad you are ok, but your Runner is likely totaled.

    Wow! That sucks!

Hopefully it's not totaled, since new 4Runners are in short supply. It looks possible from the amount of damage, though.

    Welcome to the forum!

Gosh prayers of thanks you are ok. My guess is they will total it with that much damage. Sadly darn near impossible to find a new 5th Gen now.

I would find some insanely priced used ones now and document it. Don’t settle too soon with your insurance company. These things are in demand and if you wanted to find a used one it’s going to be rough and very costly

That sucks. How fast were you going when the girl hit you?
It might be repairable since the airbags didn’t go off.

Welcome, and I hope you came away injury free. I'm guessing even if you did, you are going to have a few painful days to get over the soreness.

Damn... nearly brand new! That SUCKS!

Not often folks join the 4R forum with their first post being a potential total loss.
Gotta be gutted to see your new, beautiful 4R take that hit. Even without airbags, 4R’s are solid.
    Really feel for ya.
Wonder how much damage the curb did too..
Welcome here though! Hope you can continue to drive a runner

Glad to hear you are uninjured, but the truck on the other hand is another story. The front airbags are deployed based on the vehicle's deceleration speed and angle of impact. It looks to me like they should have deployed based on the damage to the pole. Did your seat belt pre-tensioners go off? Make sure to take it to a reputable shop of your choice - preferably the dealership where you bought it. Demand OEM parts! Hopefully you have good insurance and the at-fault party does as well. I would be really upset if it were my 2023 ORP - Good Luck with your claim and have a Happy New Year!

Glad you are okay, most importantly. Bummer about the T4R, might be repairable if the air bags didn’t deploy, maybe. Sorry
