Hello! There is some rattling going on in my passenger side floor vents that is driving me crazy! Sounds like it could be leaves. Does anyone know how to get in there?

    Welcome to the forum.

Drop out the in cabin air filter to see if you have something in there. Quick and easy

Absolutely, I get leaves in there all the time. Never happened with other cars I've owned. Why does it happen so often in a 4Runner?

Is that the filter that’s accessed through the glove box? I have checked that and it’s clean. I can’t figure out how to get into the vent that’s close to the floor- that’s where the sound is coming from.

Take out the cabin filter and turn your blower to high and see if anything comes out or if you can duplicate that noise you are hearing.

Turn off your fan, pull out cabin air filter, reach down into the white plastic blower. The leaves are in there. Smack the air filter on the ground a couple times, or vacuum it to clean the filter as well.
