    Off Topic recommendation.
Need 3 new ceiling fans. I prefer the dumb kind and with no lights.

Any specific models people have around here that they are happy with. I have been told to look into Hunter, Minka Aire, Hampton Bay.

Not looking to spend more than 200 a piece.
    Thanks

I have all Hunter fans and have had no problems with them.Last house fans were around 10 plus years old. New house fans are two and a half years old.

Hunter also. I have three that have been trouble-free for 8-10 years.

I like buying locally when I can. Steer clear of the fans with the remote control. There is a relay in them that fails and you have to replace the entire fan. I have had two of those types fail and Hunter replaced them both under warranty. Without the remote capability though.

Oh, really!! I was looking for a fan with a remote but I guess I ll skip it then. Can the fan still be operated normally with the wall switch if the relay goes kaput for the remote?

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I had a remote controlled fan fail. Well, the remote failed. The fan still worked. I had to use the light switch or the pull string to make it work. No biggie.

It depends how it fails. Mine failed in the off position so the fan was non operational until I replaced it. If you have 8-10 foot ceilings the replacement is simple enough. One of mine were in a 18’ ceiling so I had to rent a tall ladder.

You need one of these: https://www.amazon.com/VEVOR-Telesc...3&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY

I bought one years ago. After I bought it I thought "What an idiot, I'll only use this once and never use it again." But I've used it a lot. Mainly to get on the roof or high up into the tree's in my front yard to trim the branches and hang Christmas lights.
