I've recently noticed this decal residue under certain conditions (rain mainly, and under certain light conditions). I never saw the actual decal on, so Toyota of Tampa Bay had removed it prior to me purchasing it. I've tried goo-gone and some Chemical Guys polish to try to remove it, to no avail. I think the slight residue cooked on in the FL heat.

Does anyone have any suggestions to remove this? I'm currently in a little bit of colder weather so I had to use my breath to reveal it lol. It's driving me crazy :angrygirl:

Any helpful tips would be appreciated!

Thank you, I'll go try that now! I appreciate it!
EDIT: Okay that didn't work either :( I forgot in my original post that I tried to clay bar it, but that also hadn't worked. No nail polish in the house shockingly haha. Razor blade makes me nervous. :D

Yeah I second trying some rubbing alcohol but try just a little spot at a time. Try to do it when it’s not sunny there in FL.

I would not use razor blade since you might chip the rear defroster element lines

When rubbing alcohol and a microfiber towel doesn't have enough muscle to get the job done, a little gasoline or kerosene has always done the trick for me.

I would try an abrasive polish- like Meguiars Ultimate Polish. Should clean it right up.

That was my original thought when reading the thread title, but OP said they tried that and it didn't work. My only other thought would be to try the Goo Gone with a nylon scotch-brite scouring pad and try scrubbing it off.

I would think dampening a cloth with Mineral Spirits would work.

When I painted cars back in the late '70's, we would use either 000 or 0000 steel wool to clean any over spray from glass that wasn't covered by masking paper. It worked great for removing adhesives after we removed stickers with a single edge razor blade.
What the OP is seeing is that the sticker has been successfully removed but the glass needs to be polished with a cream and micro-fiber cloth.

Too poor to buy anything now
That appears to be on the glass. If that is the case, it's etched in. It's going to take an acid to clean it and it's going to be some trial and error.
Start with lemon juice on a paper towel, tape it over an area and leave it for a while. Later, wash that area and see if it did any good.
If it did, repeat on a other area. If it didn't, you'll have to try something stronger. Be warned though. Too strong will "frost" the glass.
You might consult a professional auto detailer to get some ideas.

    A work in progress.....
Well I was told years ago by a pro that he always used regular oven cleaner aerosol spray. I have since used it with great success.
Spray it on, let it set for awhile and residue wipes right off. Who knows....it has ALWAYS worked for me.

Be careful, some of the products being tossed out there don't play well with plastic, rubber, clear coat.

I second the steel wool. Used it when I used to detail for a car lot, some 30 years ago.

    @M-Bear41

@alittleoff is giving you the best advice here. This is the best method because it avoids chemicals accidentally coming into contact with other surfaces like your seals and paint. Use #0000 steel wool with a good glass cleaner like stoners invisible glass and it will pull that junk right off. Heck I would do all the glass on the vehicle and follow it up with a ceramic coat for glass or just good old rain-x.

...^^^... I have the same thing on a recently purchased 4Runner .... some of the procedures listed above really work.

Just be SUPER careful with some of those on on trim, rubber and paint.

I will clean the glass again when it gets a little warmer in GA.

PS ... Google has some good ideas on "how to clean difficult water spots on the windshield"

Your familiar with the OP's detailing experience or a random individual that may be seeking the same info in the future? Have first hand knowledge of the problem being solved? People are recommending mineral spirits, better to recommend caution so individuals don't mistakenly do more damage. Hell, I've used everything but the mineral spirits trying to remove water spots from the dealer, with little to no luck.

Oh daaang! Righteous grammar take-down! @Charlievee don’t get back up, you’re out for the count!

Nobody has recommended the blow torch method yet. Heat up the glass real good, then pour some cold water over it right away to shock it. It probably works.
