    My guess is to gain back the MPGs. I had 285s on my Tacoma. Though they looked awesome. That gave me the biggest hit to MPGs. I’m sticking with 265 on my 4runner now as well.

    Of course tire size affects your shown gas mileage, but not necessarily your actual.

    I'm running KO3 285/70r17. The only "mod" I had to do was shave about 1/2 inch off the driver side front fender. I did it with a utility knife, it was very simple and you can't even tell I did it. I also get rubbing on both mud flaps, but it's only when in a full turn, so I just live with it. I don't want to remove the mud flaps, to avoid rock chips in the rear. The pic is a comparison of stock from the dealer, to built how I want it.
