How are you all? I have a question. I just noted that the backup camera view is being blocked about 1/4 of the way on my 2022 limited. I used to have a full view, but now it is blocked. Does anyone know how this happened and how to fix it?

Is the camera loose? Does it move a tiny bit when you try to wiggle it? Might be good to have someone looking at the screen while you try this. Or is something in the camera's field of view?

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Yeah, something isn't right. It was knocked loose or has something around the camera lens. It should look like this:

@Borracho Loco is correct… It's the bottom 20% that should be blocked - by your license plate ;-)

What are the two camera view icons in the bottom left of your screen above the JBL icon? Looks like it's toggled to a narrow or close view.

This is how it looked on my 2021 Tacoma (it had the surround view cameras). You can see the two different angles.

Look at the setting in the lower L/H corner. It looks like partial view is selected to the right. Has Blue bar over the partial camera view?:notsure:

So does the 'wide' view get OP what he's looking for?

I'm not sure. I don't know if the camera system on the 4Runner is the exact same from the Tacoma. But if it is, then yeah, switching should do the trick.

Looks like something is wrong because mine fills the entire screen when using Birds Eye view

Look here, as soon as i got this vehicle i searched for something to do with the camera
There are some before pix before i started messing with the camera and some of them are normal and some are like yours depending on which image view i had. I cant tell you why or what, but i know the way the camera is mounted, its not moving. There are 3 screws that hold it in place, its a big rectangular piece that is held into the rear facia. I think its simply a difference in which view the camera is in.

Yours is normal. The 4R that have the 360 option can’t have full screen when switching to full view. OP’s issue is with the Birds Eye view

Turns out, I’ve had a backup camera this whole time—who knew? But do I use it? Nah. The moment I shift into reverse, it’s all about the rearview mirrors, a couple of honks to make sure no dogs or pedestrians have decided to play hide-and-seek under my car, and off I go. High-tech, meet old-school.

When you put it in Reverse, look in the bottom left corner of the screen. There are (2) icons, press the one to the furthermost RIGHT to get it back to full screen.
You have somehow, pressed the icon on the LEFT which puts you in panoramic mode which then cuts the screen down.

Unfortunately, another instance of an OP posting a problem, forum provides input, no response back whether the problem was fixed.

Last seen in September, maybe we'll get something from @otto..
