Hello everyone! New to the group. Hopefully everyone is doing well. I just got a 2024 sr5 about 3 months ago, so far so good! Only concern that I have is that the ac vent is making this clicking/rattling noise when I am driving. It seems like the plastic is a bit loose and it’s really annoying. Wondering if anyone has the same issue and any suggestions to fix it? Here a link to the video Thank you!

So the sound is induced or changed by pressing on vent cover? Sounds like a dealer warranty repair.

    Hi Gracio,

Yes! If you hold it firmly it will somehow lessen the noise. It’s super annoying. Do I just go to any dealership and let them know? Or do I need to go to the actual dealership where I got my car? Thank you so much!

    Hello mat TDC.032,
Any Toyota dealership would be able to warranty that issue.
I would call closest dealership and make appointment to save time.

Thank you so much! I was thinking of figuring it out myself but when I saw the sign that says airbag close to it I don’t wanna mess around it. Appreciate your help!

I would be tempted to do the same. I would let dealership fix since it’s under warranty.
I’m glad you posted as my dash has and intermittent buzzing coming from right side, will have to if it’s same issue yours has.

Hello again everyone! I scheduled my appointment with toyota about the clicking noise on my AC Vent. Weird thing is that it comes and go. Now I am having second thoughts if this really needs to be brought to the dealership, I feel like they’re gonna roll their eyes on me

any other suggestions how to fix it? When you hold it, it would stop making the sound. Appreciate you all reading my nonsense lol

The chances are, it will be dead quite when you take it to them to have a listen. Also, they would most probably say ,they hear nothing.

If it does make noise like it does in your video they will replace the piece with a new one. It is a brand new car and that clicking is not normal. Thought in my car which is 14 years old, if I touch something repeatedly, it will start to make a new weird noise.

I'll be looking tonight. I could not hear it but she swears something is making a noise...

With issues like this, if you can, fix it yourself. Thin felt tape is perfect for these issues. Pull the vent, tape all mating surfaces, reinstall.

I had the exact same issue on my 2022 and if you go on Reddit a few other guys did too the dealer brought in an engineer and they took the dash apart and put felt tape as the solution, one guy on Reddit said his rattle came back with a vengeance after that I had a few other rattles so I sold mine. Good luck I hope you get this figured rattles drive me insane

That vent pulls straight out. No need to take the dash apart.

Update: The noise keeps getting worst I want to fix/figure it out myself but for a 3 month old brand new car, I feel like the dealership needs to deal with this specially it is close to the airbags. I will update!
