Read this if your rig sees any dirt at all

So I had about 5 5th gens (I know) and they all had this same issue, basically if any dirt gets underneath the rubber cowl on the corner where you windshield meets your corner where the wiper assembly and hood are, the rubber trim cover piece will make a noise it could sound anything like a shimmy/shudder to two pieces of styrofoam rubbing against each other. Every 5th gen I’ve owned had this issue not sure why Toyota won’t fix it anyway two fixes

fix one simply wash your truck or the windshield and it goes away since the dirt that’s trapped gets washed off

a more permanent fix is to gently pry off the rubber piece (gently so you don’t scratch anything) it lifts off pretty easy and put some silicone underneath

do it on both driver and passanger side

incidentally my splash liner shields rattle a lot by shaking it with hand but those don’t make any noises when I drive (completely removed them to eliminate the front windshield cowl as the culprit)

 

Thank you for this, Mine sounded like it came from the top left of the windshield, Removed that cat and it is no longer present.

My 2021 also had a similar type noise in the same general location,
