I’ve had my 2003 4 runner limited 4 1/2 years now. Last winter I began to notice a spinning metal type of sound coming from the left front side but it only happens when the temp is below 50’s. I took it to a Toyota dealer and 2 independent mechanics. Nobody’s been able to figure it out. My concern is that it’s something that will eventually be an expensive repair. Anyone out there experience anything like this this?
    Thanks!

Grinding? Maybe a wheel bearing? I'm having a similar thing, it sounds like a zerp-zerp-zerp kinda high pitched grinding deal. I'm pretty sure it's my wheel bearing, temperature doesn't really have an effect.

Anyway if its a 2003 you might want to pop over and ask the 4th gen guys on their page, maybe they'll know a little more? I don't know much about 4th gen 4runners
