    275/70-17 Wildpeaks Method 312, 8.5 X 17, 0 offset
Hi! I have Method 312's showing up today. 8.5-17 with 0 offset - should fit like stock wheels or real close to it. I'm going to put my 265/70-17 Toyo's on them until they're worn out and want to go to a 275/70-17 Wildpeak or KO3's next. Will the 275's fit and not rub? Or is a lift and other modification required? I've seen so many conflicting posts on this.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Hell yeah, a tire size/rubbing post! The short answer, they'll fit and not rub.

The long answer is: I have Wildpeaks on my ride, stock size (I did not go up in size) and they ONLY rub in reverse at full lock. Oddly it only happens when I turn the wheel ALL the way to the right, never the left. Weird, right?

So you put 265/70-17 Wildpeaks on your Runner and the rub as decribed? That is very weird... My Toyo Open Country in the same size on my stock ORP wheels don't rub at all. Looks like you have the TRD wheels which are different size than the Methods I will be running.

The 4runner pro has wheels poke less than the methods, and they need some trimming before they are sold. That’s with stock tires.

So you’ll probably rub with your combo. For sure on the bumper cover, and maybe on the mudflap and body mount.

Lift won’t truly solve rubbing issues unless you don’t compress your suspension.

There seems to be lots of conflicting info because of all the variables are usually never clearly stated. You have to take into account offset, wheel width, tire width, and the type of control arms. And alignment can also be a viariable. Change one, and it can go from rubbing to not rubbing or vice versa.

Mills Peak is in NorCal between Hwy 89 & Hwy 49. Roughly an hour NW of Truckee. Beautiful...

Thanks @McSpazatron. One more tally on that side for "will rub".

Yeah, that could be it. Different offset and all that. Again, they're stock size and ONLY rub when reversing to the right.

The way the offset on the Method wheels is set up, they are .25 inch closer on the inside and .66 inch wider on the outside than the stock rims. A previous thread said there would be no rubbing, but I'ver seen so many that new wheels and 275's they had to cut, lift, spacers, etc to make it work. Guessing they didn't take the offset into account. Methods are 0 offset for Runners, factory wheels are +4mm. May not sound like a lot, but...

Wanted to close the loop on this. Bottom line is they will definitely rub. Trim and fender liner mod required (took 20 minutes). Also rubs on the front mud flap. Have removed for now, but will modify with a heat gun and reinstall. Quite the improvement from the stock wheels with 265's. Oh, during my research on this I learned the TRD Pro's come with the front trimmed from Toyota! Figure that's why some don't have a rubbing problem.
