    FWIW ... I don't off road ... I always buy Michelins at Costco when on sale ... Discount Tire will match Costco's price also.

    To me BFG KO2, Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Toyo Open County AT3 similarly quiet. (Maybe KO2 were the most quiet on the 3).

    Nitto Terra Grappler and Continental Terrain Contact were next on louder tires I have used.

    Good year Wrangler Duratrac were on the most louder side I have put on my 4runner.

    Hey OP
    Honestly, I can’t stand behind Nitto, Toyo (as good as they are), or KO2/3 regarding quietness.
    I’ve read a lot on tire arguments;
    Michelin, Yokohama, Cooper are winners

    My Nitto Terra Grapplers were quiet enough until about 35k on my ‘21. I got rid of them at 45 because of the noise. Went with the Michelin LTX AT, which are now LTX AT2. While I only had them about 15k, they were quieter than the Nittos on my ‘24 were brand new. If you want an aggressive look, Michelin might not be for you. But if you want a smooth, quiet ride, good performance in most situations (except maybe heavy mud), and long life, you should take a look.

    Are you looking for street tires or All-terrain? I’ve had a couple of sets of BFG K02 in load C and they start out quiet. The problem is that they last a long time, and they’ve gotten pretty loud as the miles rack up. Especially once they feather a bit or get a bit chewed up from off roading.

    I think any standard load street tire will be quieter longer any all terrain.

    I've never had an A/T tire that was quiet for the entire duration of life. As they age and wear, they get loud.

    Experiencing this with Falken Wildpeak AT3 now. I didn't realize it. Very quiet to start. Very noticeable difference after 30k+ miles.

    The AT4W's have some very good pitch sequencing built into the tread design. Pretty quiet for such a beefy tire. They are a bit heavier than most options though.

    The Nitto Ridge Grapplers were quiet at first but started to get loud later on. They also wore really fast compared to the AT4W's. Still, the Nitto RG was a great tire if you're looking for a mud terrain/ all terrain hybrid. Just be prepared to change them out a little more often.

    Why go with 285's if you do not off road? I went to 285's this summer, and you going to lose power and fuel economy. I went from an average 16MPG to 12MPG.

    Just mounted my third set of General HTS60 tires, in stock size, needless to say I have not had any negative issues for my situation. Quiet, great in rain,and have never have gotten stuck in any snow. My gas mileage has not suffered at all. With regular rotations, and maintaining tire pressures they are a solid choice in my opinion. I believe they are made by Continental
