More to be added soon!
Had to trim around the bottom of the front bumper a little bit in order for it to fit. The instructions came in Japanese, which i cannot read, but me and the boys got her rigged up with no problems.

Love the look... and certainly don't mind the added layer of protection.

What should my next mod be: black rims or smoked/black head & tail lights?

    One love,

How does it attach to frame?
Looks great ,especially for So Cal freeways!
Looks like it adds some forward extension-any measurement?

Is that a bumper guard, or a frame mounted winch-mount bumper? It’s a bit hard to tell because it looks like it’s installed over the plastic bumper cover, yet it has the winch fairlead opening and recovery points that would require it be mounted directly to the frame.

Curious also. It better be frame mounted or tied in somehow, otherwise those d-rings are just costume jewelry.

@JackedUpBlackRunnerBoy - any link to this product? It appears to be made by the same mfg. as the roof rack...

d-rings? Never heard those things called that before. At least not up in Michigan where I am originally from. On the farm up there we used to call them a “clevis hitch”.

Other than that, what is the significance of that little guy doll thingy mounted on the front???

If you are referring to the baseball head figure, that is something added to the photo to obscure the license plate.

Funny. My father is from Montana and argues with me saying these are Clevis pins. Everyone here in Texas calls them D-rings. Although I think they're really called Clevis shackles...
So him and I are both wrong.

I compromised and just call them hard shackles now; Just to avoid the argument. I only have soft shackles and hard shackles on board so it works :bored:

Always referred to them as d-ring shackles, which I left the shackle part off...

Excellent question you raised -- it's actually frame mounted, but lays on top of the plastic like a bumper guard would, so i just call it that :)

I've heard of them being called Clevis shackles before, but around here i just call them D-rings..basically just a tow hitch though.

Would definitely be able to use them to pull something or someone out of a ditch, have yet to try though.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Ahh yes, one more thing that separates the north from the south. What we call the shackle...

It's always been a D ring to me, because it's shaped like a D. But if someone wants to argue the origin of the name, I call it "the metal thing-a-ma-bob-puller-outter-piece".

Those are shackles. They can be steel - with trailer style pins, or screw pins, they can be soft... but they're still shackles.

    This is a D-ring:

Note how the D-ring is shaped like a D ;-)
    (at least in the Southeast)

Was it installed as intended by the manufacturer? I can’t visualize how you could possibly install that to the frame without going through it. Unless it has some sort of U shaped mounting brackets to go under around and back up to the frame mount. If it has U-shaped brackets, or anything between the bumper mounts and the frame mount tabs, be extremely doubtful about the using the recovery points. At best you could wrench the bumper off the frame (damaging the frame), at worst, the entire bumper could get wrenched off and go flying.

Do you have any pictures of the mounting hardware? If it’s mounted like the typical brush guard, they tend to be very light duty. Mostly would be strong enough for brush, and it wouldn’t be able to take significant pulling loads. Just mentioning this in case you ever get stuck and somebody offers to pull you out using those shackles.

Interesting, something doesn’t seem right about the way that is installed, one would think it would have replaced the bumper and sit more flush with the vehicle. But what do I know.
