Yes, we should totally trust a company you say can't be trusted with getting auto dusk sensing headlights right to give us mandatory turbo engines, electric steering, 8/10 speed transmission, electric parking brake, and driver's assist, not to mention hybrid drivetrain. Brilliant!

I don't know what you look like, but I'm happy for you that your wife thinks you look young for your age. I was commenting reasoning, logic or maybe how you express yourself. Sorry I confused you on that. And I do appreciate that you also gripe and moan about the 5th generation so you're just a complainer about everything. I get it. Not trying to be harsh just having a little fun. I hope you can handle it.

Believe it or not, people who have been driving Toyotas for 30+ years have a thing or two to say when 50k+ vehicles lack basic amenities standard on 20k Corollas. Crazy, right?

If you have the resistible urge to single people out for not march in lockstep with your fanboy tendencies, then perhaps it's time for you to take a break from the internet.

So when you quoted my post in yours, you weren't singling anyone? Just relax, I'm having a bit of fun with the 5th gen fanboys that can't accept progress. It's funny to hear the things you guys are saying. If you can't laugh at yourself, you are taking this too seriously. Just fun. Relax.

Don't make him bring out the big guns and call you a troll. That would be just so, so devastating to those on the receiving end of such swift justice.

This is a good chart, includes the destination.

For an even more realistic out-the-door price, you can subtract $2-3k off each trim for likely dealer discounts, maybe more off on some of the higher trims.

well if i do a allocation reserve request, they do best pricing (5% of msrp). if i pick one off the lot they do msrp for new released models. thats how our 23 tundra plat went from 67k to 63k before trade in and down payment.

edit : you can see the msrp of $67,343 and the penned best price before trade in and down payment of $62,758

the final numbers did change since we got a slightly different tundra platinum

so my as built 66.5k 4R plat should be discounted by $3,325 = $63,175

After seeing this I'm more excited. I'll definitely be test driving one as soon as the come to the lots. My wife is due for a new car this year to so maybe I can talk her into it.

I really try, but I just cant get excited about the interiors on the top trims. A $65-70k Platinum has to be more than slapping a fresh coat of leather over the same basic interior as a Tacoma SR. Same thin plastic molle molds on the doors, rubberized handles, hard dash, vacuum cleaner vents, etc.

Toyota product planners should understand that gutting amenities out of a $45k 4Runner SR5 doesnt magically make a $65k Platinum with power seats and leather feel worth an extra 20 grand.
