What's up guys. I have a 22 ORP. Was wanting to get the shift knobs blacked out for my truck. I see that Yota Expedition has a set for sale but it's $178 for the pair.
    https://yotaxpedition.com/products/oem-trd-shift-knob-4wd-knob

I believe some money can be saved by going a different route and buying the Transmission knob and transfer case knob separately. Does the FJ transfer shift knob have the same thread pattern? It looks identical to Yota Expedition one.
Part number 36303-35200-B0 and sold at various vendors for about half the price.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/3648077260...mHQPMYrTiq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Blacked out TRD w/ red stitching, shifter knob can be found at various retailers as well for much cheaper.

Thanks for your help in advance.

You could also use the FJ gear selector in black and cut it down a little.

The best is OEM black. Everything else is tacky or loud.

I'm of the same opinion, hence the question about the FJ transfer knob fitting. The picture you posted is what I am trying to achieve but at a cheaper cost than what Yota Expedition has. A savings of around $70 bucks if I source them separately.

My choice if you want oem style. The stock 4Runner shift knob is like shifting with a baked potato.

I got my TRD shift knob from Amazon. Toyota stock one. The link is no longer active to share. So they may have had to re post. No need to pay $150 more.

After driving my 4th gen for a few months, I decided to put one on my 5th gen. Wrong color, but it was cheap on Ebay.

Anyone know of a knock off TRD shift knob with the TRD logo? Xiaoyudou brand is no longer available.

I like these genuine leather hand-made in eastern Europe shift knobs because they match the interior and accent stitching in my 2023 ORP :)

Looks like he is gone until 12/15 so his shop will be back online then - I especially like the fact that they are not made in China :)

Would he do customization, as in black stitching and gray lettering instead of red?

And I'm curious as to how the knobs end up and stay in the correct orientation...

If you look at the examples on the reviews on the Etsy link I think that you will see examples just like that - when he’s back on 12/15 you will be able to see everything that he has available.

They are very high quality and have tapered threads so you need to install them properly - I tightened light to start and had to turn each of them down an extra turn or two before they stayed in place

I ended up trying a ball knob for the transmission shifter. Made out of wood, bought it at the craft store. I liked it more than I thought I would. It makes shifting the transfer case easier since the huge spud doesn’t get in the way.

Since it was wood, my OCD took over when I started to sand it down and find a perfect finish for it. That led me down a rabbit hole of finding the perfect ball with the perfect wood grain.

Then I went to my local woodworking shop and found a really really nice block of Padouk wood for not much money. The stuff looks like it’s already finished in its raw state. Then my OCD went into maximum overdrive and I ended up with this.

    IMG_5876.jpg IMG_5883.jpg

It only cost 7 dollars in wood and all of my free time for the last week or so lol…because I don’t actually have much for woodworking tools (basically sand paper, saw, and a hand planer). I like it…feels like the perfect match for rich corinthian leather, nevermind that I have a cloth interior lol.

Bought a few other blocks of wood that I’m going to experiment with. Good winter indoor projects.
