What's up everyone! My name is Andrew, new to the 4Runner life, excited to join in!

I just bought a 2010 SR5, and am having trouble with the stock radio, specifically the bluetooth settings. I started off with a lot of issues connecting my phone to bluetooth, it would connect and then after about 5 seconds of playing it would switch to the radio... Deleted and synced my phone again and now it is constantly skipping/pausing the music...

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a way to factory reset? Is there a way to update the software/firmware or whatever?

I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO BUY A NEW ONE, YA BOY SPENT ALL HIS MONEY lol

The OEM head unit on the 2010-2013 are glitchy specially with Bluetooth.
Remove your battery terminal for 10 mins to reset the radio. There is also an option to do factory reset for Bluetooth through the menu. I do not remember it now since I swapped mine.
Your best bet is to eventually upgrade the unit.

When I had 2010 SR5 I used bluetooth only to call or receive calls, for music I used USB stick with 16Gb of music I liked. probably not answer you're looking for, but USB stick worked just fine.

I have a 2011 and the Bluetooth for music is ok. For calls, the microphone is absolutely horrible. I just switch off Bluetooth on my phone and use speaker before making a call.

As others have said, delete the profile from your phone and car stereo. Unplug the battery for 10-15 minutes. Then try adding your phone again to the radio.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I have a 2023 and that's exactly what I do. The trick to putting it on a USB stick is: Put them in folders and put no more than 399 files into each file. If you try to stick 2000 songs onto the root drive it won't see all 2000. But if you tell it to look at the root folder, it will see all subfolders. Then set it to randomly cycle through all folders.

When I hit "next track" it may choose a song that starts with A or Z...and anything in between.

Edit: If you need a USB stick, I have tons of them lying around. 8/16/32gig sticks. I'll send you one.
