    2014 Trail Premium, second 4Runner. 1st gen '88 was disintegrating with the rust effect after 195,000 miles and 18 winters. Nearly unstoppable hill climber, creek crosser, trail machine, family hauler. Swapped out for Tacoma that turned into an '07 FJ MT that was upgraded to a '10 FJ that turned into the '14 Trail. After so many years in an FJ, I did not realize how much had improved on the 4Runners. And this one is 10 years old. Just about the right amount of new tech and mechanical improvements.

    The Trail is well kept with a lengthy service record. Alas it had the 'dry thunk' and 'nose dive' and marginal tires. It rode ok, but it was not equal to the '10 FJ with Icon and Bilstein over 285/75/16 Goodyear MT/R Kevlar's.

    So it's fitted with Michelin Defender 285/70/17 under an Eibach Stage 2 lift. Much better ride! Took a hit on mpg but the peace of mind and ride quality is worth the 2mpg's.
