2.5 inch lift, 35’s, over lander
So i've been dealing with all the cutting and rubbing of 315's and have most of it figured out. I'm on a 2.5 inch lift with 0% off set wheels and 1.5 wheel spacers and have sumo stop bump stops but stop rub when bottoming out. I've been thinking of a 1 inch body lift but want others opinions on what they've done.

Get rid of the spacers. Negative offset (or spacers) cause rubbing. You might be able to play with the alignment and/or do a body mount chop as well.

    Good luck!

    Hey OP
Watching this thread, and thanks for the info, cuz I wanna do 35’s next.
I really need bump stops, and I have discussed 1” body lift with shop, but I’ve learned it comes with drawbacks regarding aftermarket bumper fitment.

*can any folks tell us from experience if a body lift improves any rubbing clearance at all? (I have a viper cut too so nothing rubs in front of tire)

but besides that I have a similar setup, 2.5-3” lift, wheel spacers on zero offset wheels (9” wide! Lol).
I like the wide spacer/negative offset stance, but it comes at the cost of major rubbing.
I’m likely not taking my spacers off, so I have adjustable UCA’s, body mount chop, fender mount chop & weld, wheel well liner cut, and firewall hammered hahah
I think after bump stops, whatever rubs will always rub unless I upgrade UCA’s even further.

    keep sharing info and Goodluck!

Yes the wheel spacer definitely don’t help. I have already don’t the body mount chop with the rsg welded plate. Pinch welds hammered in. I’ve had them align the wheels as far forward as possible. I put some spacers on the bump stops to try and stop the rubbing at full bump but haven’t had luck. The front still hit the wheels still hit the top on the wheel wells. I am upgrading to ride shocks soon and they allow more lift so hopefully that gets rid of the last bit or rubbing but if not maybe a 1 inch body lift?

I run a 305/50-20 on stock wheels with a +2.5" up front and i dont rub anywhere, i havent cut anything, and i still have mud flaps. Your tire is about 1" larger than mine so yeah i wouldnt be able to run mud flaps and probably would be rubbing the lower front bumper but i would think they'd rub the frame at full lock before the cab mount. I think your wheels offset and wheel spacers are more of the problem than the tire size.

Yes the wheel spacers are definitely what has me rubbing. I would consider tubing but the problem of rubbing is on the top of the wheel well right where the fender starts to come down. Might need to the the c4 high clearance kit eventually or remove my wheel spacers but i'd rather rub than do that at this point. It seems the body mount lift would be more work than other options so for now i plan on leaving everything the way it is until i do my new suspension. Thank you all for the advise and i'll keep you posted on the build.

Haha definitely an option but i don't like the way the 4funner looks from long travel since you have to get the fiberglass fenders and the front wheelbase is wider than the back. if there was a way to long travel without increasing width in the front or they made a wide body for the back i'd do it but for what i do i can't justify the money and with the front being different from the back my OCD cant handle it.

The above is a pic of my +2” LT. Not so wide as to require fiberglass fenders but helps fit 35” tires with minimal fuss. The LT moves the hub forward to help clear the back of the wheel well and you don’t have to mess with the alignment to get some space back there.

To address the OCD, I cheated and put 1.25” spacers on the rear axle. It’s not perfect but good enough.

Planning to ditch the spacers when I move to 35's. But for now I clear everything even when flexed.

@Silverkylo question: are you running stock shocks, and UCA’s? That’s may need work first.
Is your lift a spacer lift then?
And if you’re rubbing the top of the wheel well/fender, perhaps a body lift is the answer. Interesting feedback for my own build.
    Thx

@hossler1788 - regear is a must, I’m running 4.88, and while you’re at it toss in some air lockers

I’m on lifted uca and have biltstein 5100. I’m upgrading to 2.5 shocks in the next month though. I was wondering about a regear since I haven’t yet. The thing is my car still feels like it drives normal so I haven’t felt the need yet.
