I have a 02 4runner that I changed a 02 sensor now it has a miss you can see in the tack when driving, bought everything to do valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires not sure if this happened right after the sensor was changed but seen where another guy had the same issue.About 160,000 miles on it and have never tuned it has run great until this came up.Im new to this site and know from other sites that a lot of money can be saved from others having this issue and would like to know if anyone on here has had this problem.

ok so far I have tried new plugs, new wires, new ignition coils, bought a used throttle body and it seemed to be worse than mine.I only had the 02 sensor code flash but seemed to run ok after I changed it,never flashed another code in all the time of engine surging, seems to do fine when cold but when warmed up it has a surge when pressing on the gas pedal.I have a Toyota mechanic I took it to and he said he has never seen one do that before, great my luck to have a problem nobody has seen before.Im running out of things to try on this has been a great car all the time I have owened it.Not sure what to try next the used throttle body would idle about 2000 when cold and would drop to about 1500 after warmed up,my old one runs about 600 when warmed up so I put my old one back on.

surly someone has had a issue like this with their Toyota not sure what else to try maybe injectors but would think that would flash a code looked to see if I had my old 02 sensor to see if they might be a problem with the denso I installed on it thought the throttle body would take care of it but it had more issues than mine did

Tacoma whip, 99 console box, tru trac., steering wheel, PWMS and HVAC control out of a 99.
The crank gear for the timing belt has been known to wear out at the key way, causing a similar symptom. Injectors won't set a trouble code other than misfire when they fail. Engine data will help if you have an OBD reader that can show you some.

well I tried a new throttle body from Toyota and still have the same issue when driving not sure where to go with this thing now,Ive tried everything and it never has flashed a code to point me in the right direction.I had a Toyota mechanic look at it at one time and he said hes never seen one do that thing before,he put his foot on the brake and gave it gas and it reved up and down when it had a load on it like it had a large vacuum leak.
