Body Lift: Cornfed 2/1.5 Vs Wescott 4Runner Fox TRD PRO Lift Kit, general questions.

    Stock but looking to finally do some mods
    Hey all,

    First post on here and wanted to say hello! My wife owns a '21 4R TRD PRO and is looking to get out of the stock look and get a more aggressive, beefy look for it. I've been doing a lot of research on this and can't quite pinpoint on what to do here. I've had lifts and done mods to other vehicles I've had, but nothing this new so I wanted some input and guidance for a first time 4runner owner that wants to make the car look like it should from factory lol!

    She wants a level kit so that theres no front rake and needs new tires as well. She has the Nittos from factory still and wants a beefier look to em. She's been talking about the level for quite some time so I thought why not do it all at once! She wants nothing fancy just a simple level and maybe some HO3's or some WildPeak A/T4W's (depends on noise level) but thats for her to decide.

    1) Do I go big or do I go with just a simple front level and no rear lift. I see that there are different sizes you can get with cornfed but should I go for the 2/1.5 cornfed or the Wescott lift, why does Wescott cost more even though the lift isn't as big as the cornfed I was looking at? Will I be able to fit 285s with the Wescott kit? Just curious for my own sake.

    2) If I go with the bigger lift should I do 285/70/17 tires and will they fit on the stock '21 TRD Pro wheels? I see a lot of people say the 285s will actually fit TRD Pro wheel wells better then other trims. The mud flaps may need to be removed but thats fine.

    3) Is there anything I'm missing or is it as simple as buying the level kit and tires? Like will it effect the Fox suspension at all? Will I need anything else for this etc...

    Any info on this helps and I appreciate it!

    From what I recall you have to remove the front shock dust shield to install the cornfed lift, which was a no go for me.

    The wd lift is just as expensive as the eibach springs for the trd pro.

    Go with the eibach springs for the trd pro(1.6" front, 1" rear lift).

    Below is a post I made over 4 years ago that includes 23 photos of owner's rigs who went with the Bilstein 5100 shocks. set at .85 front leveling height, with nothing done to the rear but maybe upgrade shocks, & no height change in the rear. Almost all have the stock size tires, with only one exception I could find...show these to your wife and see if this will satisfy her leveling and/or tire itch. It did mine. :D

    Eibach springs would probably feel better than the WD. The WD could fit 285s but, you're going to rub a bit at full turn. You won't need a BMC but, some trimming.

    @Loafy 21 TRD Pro owner here. Going on 18 months with the Eibach Pro-Lift spring kit. Here's a before and current images. Currently sitting with about 110 lbs of additional 'permanent' weight over the front axles and about the same over the rear. Went from the Bridgestone Duellers to MT Baja Boss ATs, factory size (265/70R17.)

    If you go with the Eibach springs (E30-82-071-03-22 was what was on my order confirmation, HOWEVER, if your wife's front Fox Shocks has the upgraded perches then you need to specify the front springs to have the ground flats on them (E30-82-069-03-20.)

    Something to consider if you're going with 285's on the 7" Pro rims, it's kinda pushing it as the 285's are meant for min 7.5", 8" nom. rim width. Lots of people warn about airing down too far (like 10 psi) and hitting a trail and loosing a bead. Now this is based upon folks doing some harder trails, like 5 and above (on a 1-10 rating.) MT's recommendation for their 285s is an 8.5" wheel, 7.5 min. Will a half inch width difference really matter? Up to you to decide.
