Hello all, I just purchased a very well maintained 2010 4Runner SR5 from my pops. Prior to purchasing it I had the frame inspected by several body shops to ensure it wasn't compromised as it spent its entire life in the midwest, fortunately it's in very good shape, outside of some delamination and surface rust.

With that said, I have been searching for a shop to clean up the frame from the surface rust, apply some sort of rust converter, and coat it in some heavy duty top coat. I know that won't stop the rust, but I'm sure it'll help extend the life of the frame a while longer.

It's been pretty tough to find shops that will do this type of work, but I ended up finding some. The shops that I found quoted me anywhere from $700 to $2000, depending on the extent of the work I want done. Just wondering if anyone here has had this type of work done in the Illinois area and has any recommendations before I choose from the options I currently have.

I'm also open to any other general suggestions, like types of shops that typically do this type of work. I was thinking of reaching out to some body shops that work on classic cars to see if that's something they can do, seeing as how they typically restore cars in far worse condition.

    Thanks all!
