@Lost Bolt when I placed my order, I didn’t realize the holders I also ordered, don’t come with the correct ball to attach to this mount. Is there anyway you can work with me on pricing, as I would have ordered with the mount.

this is what I had typed thinking that I screwed up or something, however-

As I just went back to look up what I did order, and now feel that I did not get all the expected items.

    I ordered 3DE303B5-1B0C-47EB-A917-A360C12861E3.png

I ordered this expecting to use the 1 extra ball mount to mount my offroam holder, and based on the description of full mounting kits (ball/arm/mount) I was expecting full mounting kits that would work with DMM being purchased in this package.

I only got the one ball and the two holders, without the parts to mount them.

    775AAAEF-D606-4C71-82F8-7C67A3C78E2E.jpg

How can we solve this. I’m choosing to contact you this way, as this thread was the sole reason I purchased this set up. Order #21000, placed on Jan 20th, received on Jan 29th.

    thanks

OP was on the forums Friday evening, but I don't know if any responses were made. Hopefully, he gets on here to get us some answers soon.

I have heard from the taco garage, they apologized and created a new order for the items I didn’t get. Thanks @Lost Bolt for the group deal.

    That is great news!

I sent a mail to them back on January 30, 2024 and I’m still waiting for an emailed response. I received a message on the forums a little over a week ago. It has been silence since then. As a consumer, I shouldn’t have to chase down a business and do all of the due diligence on problems for them. Still patiently waiting to get resolution.

So far, the mount has been holding up great. I will be using an iPad Pro 11" on the magnetic mount in a few days and will report back on how well it works. My iPhone 12 Pro has had zero movement or issues on both the slim mount and magnetic mount.

Just completed the install, pretty simple if you follow the video on YouTube and the instructions on here. The 2 balls that I ordered came with screws that weren’t quite long enough. No big deal I was planning on running to the hardware store to get some small button heads to close up some holes. It’s a great product with equal quality in manufacturing! Very pleased the DMM

edit: Got longer bolts for the balls and some 1/2 #10-32 screws to fill the open holes. Looks great!

Not sure, almost looks printed or milled. They’re probably printed. That’s how they were shipped from taco garage. They sent me in the Tacoma are standard looking.

Updates on using an iPad Pro 11" on the mighty magnet mount with extended arm. The iPad didn't move on the magnet for the entire 2-hour trip. The only issue that came up was the weight of the iPad caused the extended arm to lower slightly. This could just be a user error with me not tightening the arm enough. Overall, this mounting kit is pretty amazing and the setup is exactly what I envisioned.

Has anyone found a way to create some provisions for passing cables through the dash and the mount to the devices mounted? I would like to pass an interface cable to a radio control head without running it across the dash if possible. I'm wondering if there is still room to drill or notch out the mount for that? If anyone has managed that pictures would be awesome! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum . And yes there is room on the back or edges of the plastic to drill another hole or notch out a pass through for cables.

There is one area for certain that's located between the two HVAC vents and aft of the Emergency Flasher switch. I marked that spot in red for reference but you possibly could go along the back edge of the top plate *if* your cabling doesn't extend through the plate too far (can hit the tops of the vents.)

    vents.jpg
    Topplate.jpg
    underside.jpg

Its been awhile since I did the install but I believe you should have plenty of room to route cabling between the vents.

Ok, this is great! Thank you for confirming this. I really like that this mounting platform is low profile but more robust (and cheaper) than the Labops Gear option. I was planning to use their power socket pass through for cabling but didn't like how it was right in the center and honestly too big. I imagine drilling more holes in that would really compromise the structure.

One more tough question. Does anyone happen to know the factory P/N for the stock part the mount is sandwiching? I have not been able to find it in the parts catalog and the marks I have sen in photos here just look like material type IDs.
