5th gen 4Runners in scenic locations

Nice! I was in Hurricane this past May. Heading back again next May for a week (with some time in Big Bear and Death Valley on the way).

Moab is on my list of places to go but I'm thinking of combing it with Western Colorado in one big trip.

Curious about your crossbar setup...any details on what you used?

 

I've got a KTM 640 Adventure and a Honda Africa Twin.

I've ridden the Africa Twin in Moab several times... including White Rim. I've also done the Mid Atlantic BDR, Continental Divide Ride, and the Trans America Trail to name a few other trips I've ridden it on.

Taking the 640 out to Moab on our October trip.

 

Not really a scenic location.... just the road into my cabin....but tonight I was taking a few pictures of my new rock lights, and got this really cool (no pun intended) picture in the snow.

 

Neat shot. But to this ol' Missi'ppi boy, that's a HUGE hell naw.

It’s a rack system by a guy who designed the brackets and uses 8020 aluminum extrusions for the crossbars. He called it NiseRack and sold the brackets on this forum and the other one a few years ago. But he’s seemed to have lost interest and has gone dark. Which is too bad, the rack works really well for my needs.
I made the wind fairing out of 1/4 aluminum sheet.

 

Been having some fun with vectorizing images, been thinking about practicing some acrylic paint art or something, and vectorized some of the nice pics from the last few pages. Great pics!

One of the most unforgiving places on Earth – the rugged mountains straddling the UAE and Oman border. My 4Runner took it all in stride. The crawl control was put through its paces on some truly insane trails, and I came away amazed at how capable this vehicle is.

That is a cool tire carrier. I've not seen a stand alone swing out. Could you post a few pics of how it is attached? Maybe a link to the manufacturer? Thx.
