Consider the GX550 also

Just a suggestion. Toyota is not giving away the higher trims of the 6th gen 4R. When you reach the $60k mark, at that point you are reaching Lexus territory. So consider the GX550 if you can snatch one at MSRP. The new GX is a very impressive vehicle

Since Tundra hybrids started engine failures GX550 engine is something to keep eye on.

GX has not been affected by that problem as far as I know.

    I'd consider one...if I could afford one.

Recently, I have been toying with the idea of getting a used 2017 - 2021 Lexus LX.
It will be a while before I actually do it if I do it, but it's a category higher, better equipment and standard, sublime engine, has all the bell and whistles. Love the old school interiors and space.
For my mostly urban use case, works well. As long as the AHC is taken care off, they are stupid reliable. And thankfully easier to find and cheaper compared to an equivalent LC200.

Those things hardly depreciate. Expect to pay $65k or even $75k if it is a 2021. But they are AMAZING

Looking at 2017/2018 MY. They are going between 48k to 55k with around 80k miles. This is before negotiations. There is no market for them unlike the Landcruiser. They also depreciate faster than a LC200.
It was upgraded in 2016 and run the same till 2022. The newer ones are expensive, but the 6/7 year olds are good value if I can stomach the 13mpg city.

I never get the first model of anything. But once they do a refresh and fix all the gremlins I will have one. Not trading or selling my 4Runner though.

So tempting but I’m going to wait until the 2026MY, unless I overprice my 4Runner and it sells.
