    Good day everyone,
    New member here. Recently got a used 2014 4runner sr5 with 132k miles which I've only driven a couple of times. I noticed a low growling noise that gets louder with speed (sounds like it's coming from the front end.) I could not really tell if it goes away when I turn left or right. I've been reading and mostly points to bad wheel bearing and some saying from tire tread wear (the 4runner has 275/65/r18 nokian rotiiva at plus mounted)
    Did not get the chance to jack the car yet to check for play (too cold in Alberta at the moment)
    Has anyone had the same noise/experience?
    Thanks in advance for all the input. Much appreciated!

    Here's the sound;

    I've had growling on a couple cars that sounded like bad front bearings. First time on a Scion xA. Shop put it on the lift and diagnosed what sounded to them like a bad bearing in the manual transmission, and suggested I take it somewhere that could fix it (this shop was simply a local tire and service shop). So I did, and that shop diagnosed a bad tire. Replaced both front tires and never another sound. Second one was my son's 2016 Corolla, same symptom, same fix. So I'm going to suggest you rotate the tires and see if the problem follows or goes away.

    Thanks! The suv was taken to a shop for a pre purchase inspection and nothing about wheel bearing was mentioned on the report. However they did write steering fluid seeping from the right cv boot (so i'm hoping they really did an inspection)
    I'll rotate my tires and see what happens. Thanks!
