Planning on putting up Woolwax this weekend... Any tips?

I purchased a 2 1/2 Gallon Jug kit of Woolwax which includes the PRO Spray Gun. I also purchased an additional empty container.

The temp should be decent this weekend. My plan is to drive the 4runner on top of a tarp to limit mess in my driveway and wear some old beater clothes. I'm going to remove the spare tire and the skid plate prior to spraying. I'm considering just crawling under there and scooting around, but I may consider lifting the truck on jack stands or ramps if the job will be much easier.

Besides coating as much as possible and avoiding rubber boots and exhaust, are there any other tips?

I live in CO and we don't use the 100% salt like the Northeast uses (mag chloride), but I want to keep the truck looking it's best as long as possible.

Use painters plastic drop cloth and spread it down-then tape to ground. Go 3-4' past vehicle. Get a tyvek suit, mask and goggles, rubber gloves. Cut up sections of cardboard. 12"x12", 6" x 18", etc to protect things while spraying. Use grocery bags and painters tape to protect things not wanting to be sprayed. Good lighting helps to see nooks and crannies-cheap headlamp also works.

 

Start from hard to reach nooks and cranny first. First, inside the frame. Then, cross members under the engine. Area just behind the front wheel well, especially the brake lines. Spot where A/C drains water on. Stay away from electrical connectors; light coat does not affect it but globs of it might seep in. Top of the frame. Last, rest of the frame.

 

Keep the woolwax in a warm place as it will go on and seep better.
