I haven't set up the app for my '20 Limited. Just now, I started to for no real reason - mostly curious what functionally or features I might be missing. I stopped at the "Connected Services Terms of Use: line and remembered seeing a few long (!) thread on spyware, etc., and thought, "Hmm... is there any legit reason to use the app? Do I really need this."

Let's not go down the spyware rabbit hole here. We have these threads already. I'll make it easy:

I'm just wondering what the app does for the owner... not Toyota.

    Thanks!

Remote start for the Limited and Pro Bro in the US with paid subscription. I don’t remember the year it started. Otherwise just lock 3 times.

I just re-subscribed to the remote start service for the winter months. The range on the key fob sucks too much to rely on the 3 lock method.

Remote start and discount on insurance w/USAA (Safety Connect counts as an Anti-theft/ Vehicle Location Service)

Sounds like, since my key fob (lock-lock-loooook) unlocks the truck, and I don't/can't have USAA insurance... I'm deleting the app.

Mine was deleted after three days with it. I got an aftermarket remote start system. Optionally, I also got the cellular module for it. I can start, lock doors, locate, see battery voltage and inside temps wherever I have cell service. I'm trying to remember what it costs a year, but it wasn't much.
