Oil in spark plug tubes

Hey guys first off I want to say I love this site and everyone on here rocks. I'm having a prob.theres a little oil in 2 of my spark plug tubes when i was changing them. Is that going to damage anything? I have to wait to fix it. Just bough this 97 4runner 3rz. Paid top $ too and think I got kinda screwed. Guy said it has brand new 3rz crate motor installed. Has receipt with 3 year warranty. Motor looks new and clean. But oil leaking from oil filter housing . Spark plug tubes. There's wire connectors unplugged and missing. Check engine bulb is out. Had tested and like 9 codes the guys said. Fml! All I wanted was a nice 4runner

 

dude, oil in your engine where it's not supposed to be is never good. it's not the end of the world tho (if you fix it soon) you need to more than likely change your gasket. have you noticed the vehicle misfire?

 

sorry bout your luck man. that has diy or shit mech written all over it. let's tackle this mountain, oh, you dont think a mountain can be moved? the hell it cant we can tackle it one rock at a time. 1st thing 1st change that gasket. 2nd that oil leak sounds like gasket too.

 

Thanks guys. I just ordered all the gaskets. It's been misfiring from what i can feel. Not bad. It runs good but not perfect. Feels like it could have more response and power when I gas it. I bought this rig for 8250 . Guy said it had a crate motor installed. Gave me receipts and warranty but starting to believe it may not be for this 4runner. Check engine bulb is out and apparently there's like 8 codes showing. Just had to replace exhaust and the muffler guy tested check engine and told me all this.said its Going to ruin my cat if I dont fix soon. Wish he told me that before he took my 500 bucks. Noticed it has egr delete I think. Few unplugged wire connectors with missing or damaged ends. I'm starting to realize I'm an idiot and should of done more research before I bought it. I just fell in love so fast lol

 

And I'm definitely a believer mountains can be moved....with help!

 

nah man some of us have been there before. here's hoping no more damage has been done in the engine. was it just that one that had oil in it? also, if you cat is giving you code, don't just go and get one you might could just clean it. also, make sure to clean the oil out and change the boot, you dont want to use the same one.
