Useful or useless?

Switches and a RAM ball have lived there at various times in my 4Rs over the years. For switch install, there is not a lot of room to work with under there, and you have to chop out a small plastic support.

For storage of anything except dust, it's useless.

I assume it is just console dead space that Toyota wanted to make something in so as to not have a large flat expanse of nothing.

 

I keep my after market turboencabulator controller there. Fits perfectly and is right handy if I need it fast to over-ride the Billivester Relay if it starts chattering...

 

That looks to be the perfect solution right there.

 

Saving up for a new Land Cruiser.

There only a select few here that actually held a “Kodak” film canister from “back in the day”. Thanks for bringing back that little blast from the past memory!

 

Depending on your taste in coffee, you may be closer to the Land Cruiser.

 

This is why I love Joe Raiti. Knowing how many snacks you can fit into available space in a vehicle is daily applicable knowledge!

 

I've got a buddy who actually bought some from ebay about a year ago...

After the Kodak cans disappeared, I used diabetes strip "cans" for a while. The lid is attached so you can't lose it. A great leap in stoner tech; no more "Where's the lid, man?"

But like film cans, they are obsolete. Damn those continuous glucose monitors...

 

Found a use on training days.

 

I'm glad they didn't pull a Nissan. I present the 2019 Frontier, with a bit of small object storage vs. the 2020 Frontier. Other than that same tray, you get nothing!
