Hey! So does this lil guy here have any good use or basically just useless? Is there any mods that would make this spot useful? Thanks!

    Welcome.

There have already been a few threads about that location. Mostly McDonald’s nugget sauce holder, AirPod holder, dog poop bag holder, etc.

On the Limited it’s wider and a Sonic corn dog fits there perfectly!!!

That's kind of what I was thinking lol. I was actually looking for threads pertaining to this little waste of space but couldn't find anything.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

These best two things you could put there:

    1) Cut it out and put a scan gauge LCD read out there.
    2) Cut it out and put two toggle switches for auxiliary lights. Maybe even a kill switch?

Other than that, it's very pointless. My 4Runner has the knob 4wheel drive, so it's larger than yours. It's the perfect dimensions for glasses or pens. I keep my reading glasses in it.

I have the longer one since no lever but if it was shorter like that it'll continue to be on permanent aquaphor/chapstick/lip balm/etc. duty.

I had always just assumed that it was the world’s last ashtray ever installed into a new vehicle.

But then that corn dog concept just comes along out of nowhere, and blew my mind. Right there with man discovering fire.

I sometimes awkwardly put my key fob there even though it doesn't really fit.

    Edit: also sometimes loose change.

I put my eye drop bottle in there. If I'm parked in the sun I'll move it.

It’s short term storage for things you want to find on the floor or between the seat and console later.

Yup. Apparently so. No one really knows what this thing is called (at least I don't) in order to search those thousands of annual posts pertaining to this little jewel lol. So as hard as one may search it's not always possible to find a thread. But I see Apparently out of the many years of threads still no one has any new inventive uses for the useless hole lol. I assumed the obvious, change, chapstick, dust, dead bugs, food particles, even dipping sauces for said foods. Though all useful, unfortunately, none help me. So I'm just gonna keep on having to scour ye ole interweb for cool ideas for this dead space as they possibly are invented lol.

I put the temperature readout for my fridge in that spot. Holds it perfectly so I find it quite useful

The owners manual says it's for a hot dog. Didn't even occur to me to try a corn dog, but now I might. Thanks.

Be careful, if you're in Texas of FROM Texas you have to call them "Corny Dogs". There are never corn dogs.
