My local dealer has multiple LR's in all trims advertised at 2k off MSRP with no add-ons. Supply appears to have caught up with initial demand and Toyota is definitely competing with itself. That is only going to get worse and it will be interesting to see if, and if so for how long, dealers can get away with ADMs on the new 4R's when they finally arrive. GX's are still pretty scarce in my nape of the woods.

hahaha, I won't go back and edit it now out of respect for your astute observation. it's ironic because I actually have some serious Land Rover emotional baggage

Jokes aside, I think this is supply and demand returning to normal. The 200-series LC was a sales failure in North America because it was too expensive. Wouldn't have been sustainable for dealers to charge just as much for the 250-series, no matter how hard the advertising hype machine pushes it.

They can’t keep LCs on the lot here in Vegas.

GX scarcity most likely a sales strategy to test the waters and create artificial scarcity. Several 2024 GX 550 Premium + on the lot in my neck of the woods. Its gas mileage around 15/21 ... I think. Previous GX450/460/470 had been a hard sell all along locally. Again, just my personal observation.

My most-nearby Toyota dealer has three 1958 versions in stock. Danged thing looks way too much like a Jeep Patriot.

I like the LC, but 58 grand for manual seats & a set of HT tires feels like what I’d pay if it were 2031.

yeah I was not impressed . Not one bit. Looked very cheap to me. Both interior and exterior. The opposite of heavy duty.

I saw one the other day on a elevated display platform when I walked by the local Toyota dealer lot when I was there to pick up some parts for my Corolla. Stickered around 70k and marked up 7k. From the build quality and interior it's 45k vehicle at best. It's been there for about a month and no takers, I'm sure the dealer is hoping a sucker will come along at some point.

yup there never was a demand for these and to true die hard Land Cruiser fans who would buy Land Cruisers they did them dirty by putting in the 4cylinder turbo that no one wants and there’s the whole not a real Land Cruiser but a prado angle. Toyota got greedy and expected all their new trucks to fly off the lots when the trucks are exactly what Toyota enthusiasts don’t want

They’re probably going to kill it off because I see 6th gen 4Runner sales numbers struggling

Planning to go to work in person and check out my friends LC who purchased today and having some concerns with paint quality and hvac.
Before he buys I already told him LC build quality made in Hamura factory may not be good as 4runner build quality made in Tahara. Will see. But weather is not in favor to stay outside here in Denver CO.

Manual cloth seats, plastic interior, small display, no power rear gate; take away the hybrid and AWD and it’s a $40,000 FJ Cruiser. Looks great though.

They seem to be sitting on the lots here and I’ve received a couple emails advertising $2k off. Something else I’ve noticed is that most of the ones I’ve seen on the road have dealer plates. Too expensive for an over complicated four cylinder turbo hybrid that doesn’t even get good mpgs is my theory. New engine please.

Haha. My wife had a silver Patriot. We called it the Toaster. It wasn’t too great but at least it wasn’t very expensive.

I drove one after I totaled my '23 ORP a couple of weeks ago. It was the 1958 stripped trim for $58K. It was a nice vehicle. It wouldn't suck to drive one every day. It was quieter and more powerful than the 4Runner.

I bought a used '24 5th gen instead. No regrets.

Did the same thing, but bought a used 2023. Liked it so much, I then bought a "new" 2023 for my wife. Two for the price of one Land Cruiser.

That’s what I thought too when it came out. Specifically from her behind she looks like a patriot. And I don’t like it.

Yep, my FJ had manual seats, no issues.

I just don’t like paying business class, and getting coach. Which, is my main gripe with Toyota lately.

Yeah, they're definitely both SUV's, and they both have tires. Not sure what else is particularly similar about them. :notsure:

Its like all the execs get together and decide how they will design the cars of the next decade. If they all design them the same them no one will be wrong and the consumers will have to buy
