2022 trd pro 4Runner exhaust tip rusting/pitting

I wanted to know if anyone has had any luck getting the exhaust tip covered under factory warranty I have a 2022 trd pro 4Runner with only 13k miles and the Toyota dealer I took into said this is not covered by warranty just the tip is rusting excessively. Do you think I should get Toyota customer service involved.

 

mine didnt rust but the glossy look quickly went away and surface appearancw was weird. I cleaned it up really well and sprayed it with a high temp engine enamel in flat black. I can touch up as needed.
