Toyo AT3 P285/70/17 Standard Load

I just installed these on my TRD Pro with factory wheels. Looking for suggestions on air pressure to run on the road.

 

32-34PSI is usually the sweet spot.

 

I run the same exact tire on my 2021. 26 PSI is the recommended pressure with the increased carrying capacity. It also passed the chalk test for me at 26 PSI. 32 PSI had a high spot in the middle and cupped the tires slightly after 5k miles.

 

Although I'm running stock size in these same tires (also on TRD Pro wheels), I must be the odd-man out....I've been running 35-36 psi which seems to be the sweet spot on my '24 Limited. With 37, the driving experience felt a little squirrely, and 32-34 felt like I was driving on half-deflated donuts. I am keeping my eyes on how the tires are wearing, but I've only got just under 3K miles on my rig....and so far, so good. Both around town (I live in the sticks of NJ) and driving on the highway, I'm getting between 19-21 mpg and like the way it handles, soaks up bumps, etc.

32-34 is a good place to start, only way to truly know is chalk test, its super easy to do.

 

I was looking to replace my 265/70 KO2 with these P285/70 AT3s Are you having any issues rubbing, any mods to add clearance?

I have TRD Pro wheels and Stage1 Eibach lift (about 1.5”-2”) w/ stock upper control arms

 

No issues with the Westport lift, unless I do a hard and fast wheels locked reverse. I get a little rub on front mud flap.

What is the reason for going with standard load 285/70R17 vs LT 285/70R17 load range C?

 

weight, ride quality

 

If one doesn’t need the extra ply’s reinforcements for puncture protection against sharp rocks (east coast is less rocky than southwest for example) or for towing (probably won’t matter because of the towing capacity of the 4R) then SL will be cheaper, weigh less, ride less stiff

 

The reasons I went with SL.
