    Hi all, new to forum....

My wife is a long-time 4runner fan buying her first one in 1986 with the most recent 2013 which now has 280K miles on and still runs like a champ. Concerned about getting stranded when it dies, we headed out to our local Toyota dealer here in the Northeast this week to see if there were any 2024 4Runners available and the short answer was Nyet and with production currently shut down, that commits us to a 2025....Any idea when the dealers will get at least the pricing for the new models? Thanks inadvance...

There are lots of 24's on cars.com. There does seem to be an unusual amount of limiteds though.

Here’s the advice that a friend would give you:

Locate one of the last remaining 2024 4Runners left in the country. Book a one-way flight there for you and your wife, plus overnight accommodations at a nice hotel. Order room service, have a night on the town. Get up early, complete the paperwork at the dealership. Enjoy a nice, long road trip home, knowing that you now own the last, best Toyota they ever made and ever will make…

Or, wait for some ambiguous as-yet undisclosed future date, pay too much money, and risk becoming a first-year beta tester…

    Good luck!

Welcome from Wisconsin! Sounds like you need to get feedback from other Toyota dealerships/salesman, doesn't seem very enthusiastic about "the product". 4Runners are out there(2024's), not tons of them. Some dealerships that normally have 10-12 of them only have 1 or 2. 4Hopper(post #9 above) has a great plan, if we were looking for a new 4Runner, the last of a generation, that's what we would do.

since production is in the tahara plant and it takes roughly 2 months for transport via RORO, first ones hitting dealers will be around oct (best case) to around nov/dec with greater quantity.

since we have not seen anything this fall, i will be guessing production will be pushed to aug-sept of 2025 with re-tooling done in june/july

Or Option #3: buy any of the million+ used 4Runners made between 2013 and 2024.

If you really want a 2024, go to the LeaseHackr site and find the Toyota northeast thread. The broker (Jim) has access to a lot of dealers and his prices are unbeatable. He has info in his spreadsheet for both buying and leasing. I picked up 2 Limiteds (2023s) from him last summer. IIRC, his deal was roughly $5500-$6000 off sticker, or about $1750-$2000 under invoice. The paperwork at the dealer took all of 45 minutes for both 4Rs and we were on then road driving home by 10:15AM. Great experience and I recommend checking his deals out before you hit local dealers if you’re leaning that way to help you negotiate locally. Good luck!

NJ still has 2024 models on stock. Don’t be picky and you’ll find something. If you don’t like the color just get it wrapped.
You can go on autotrader.com filter for “new” 2024 models and call the dealers.

wrapping a car costs several thousands of dollars and only lasts a few years then you have to do it all over again not an ideal situation at all

Sure. But after the first wrap he might like the original color. BTW they last for long time. Ask any cabdriver.
