    Hello,

I installed the Trail Grid Pro anytime front camera to the factory infotainment screen on my 23 ORP. When I got it all connected I checked the functionality using the provided switch. The new front camera turned on but when I switched to the rear the screen went blank. I then tried to go back to the front camera view and the screen stayed blank. Now the screen is completely dead. I removed all the harnesses for the anytime camera kit and plugged back the factory connections and my screen is still dead.

I checked the fuses under the drivers side foot area and all appear to be intact. Has anyone had experience with this? It seems to me like their harness has a fault and shorted out the headunit.

I have not heard back from the Trail Grid Pro yet. Needless so say I am very frustrated.

Is it still under warranty? If Trail Grid Pro doesn't cover it, take iy to the dealer and don't tell them about the camera.

Yes still under warranty since it’s a 2023. My worry is if this will happen again

    It's a long list...
    So a couple things...

Just because a fuse appears to be intact, doesn't mean it is good. If you haven't already, you need to check them with a multimeter for continuity. There are 4 fuses for the circuits feeding the head unit directly. Check each.

Does your TRDORP have the factory 360 camera system? It doesn't sound like it, but just to confirm as the system is set up differently at the the head unit, and as such there are different/additional fuses.

it does not have the factory 360 camera system. I don’t have a multimeter but will go pick one up.

It might. Murphy's law. I wouldn't use that harness in my vehicle, and I would reach out to Trail Grid and ask them to exchange or refund. If the head unit is truly dead, then IMHO I would steer clear.

Ok good to know. They are an essential tool for electrical trouble shooting. You don't need to break the bank on one, but get something halfway decent and not the $6 dollar one at Harbor Freight.

So, I've had a bit of an issue with my rear camera, and after extensive research, I've found that some of the Anytime wiring harnesses end up going bad at some point.

Just ordered a FRAC harness, and looking forward to having my rear camera working again.

With the shorted head unit... I would return everything to stock before going to the dealer. Fingers crossed...

    Cheers,

    Sean

Update, I found the 7.5a “ACC” fuse was blown. It looked fine visually but when tested with the multimeter was blown. New fuse and the headunit is fixed. Not sure what to do about the harness I have now

Glad it was actually the fuse, and not the head unit.

Obviously double check that all the connections between components included in the kit were correct (we have all made mistakes before), and if correct, then there is something wrong internally with that harness.

If that's the case, I personally would not put that back in my vehicle. I would reach out to them and ask for an exchange if you still want to run their stuff, or a refund.
