2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited

Hi guys! New to this forum. I’m wondering before I spend money on parts, has anyone had luck with using a 84-88 4Runner grill on a 3rd gen?

I’ve read that they can convert over with a bit of trimming of the clips and so on, but they look like totally different shapes.

It can't be done. The only thing you can swap a 1st gen grille on is a 2nd gen. The 3rd gen is too wide and it used composite headlights that the grill shape conforms to.
