In what year, I got mine with 90,000 on it for $4,000 back in 2008. She was a cop attractor though.

Well back to the original topic, if the dealership ever figures out that shimmy, please come back and report it! We like to stay updated on things like this…hence why I check in on this page every now and then when I get bored at work! I wonder if mine is still shimmy’s for the new owner

Does weight on board affect the shimmy? I notice that when my 4runner is loaded with gear, the steering wheel seems heavier.

Double check the tire pressures. Set them around 32-36psi. If the shimmy is still there have the tires road forced balanced and make sure the final run out numbers are less then 20.

Its a pain but until it drives to your liking do NOT let off the dealer and make sure they know whats going on.

I've not had the 4runner loaded down so unsure on if load affects the shimmy

I don't see anything wrong in that first video.
Mine acted like that F250 vid Ripper posted. About 55-65 mph.
Tire balance fixes it for me but needs someone that knows their job beyond seeing green number on a machine and saying that means it's good. Comes back once in a while in varying severity depending on the weather or something.
Multiple shops told me BFG KO2 tires are really bad about it on 4Runners.

I just picked up my 2023 ORP with XP Predator package (TRD wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers) and I also have a pull to the right. The service advisor I was directed to told me it is a common issue with the TRD wheel package. I do notice a very slight wobble too around 60. Having them do an alignment and road force balance on Wednesday.

I just picked up a similar 23 ORP with the off road upgrade package that includes the TRD wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Zero pull and zero vibes thank the lord. I did test drive a 23 Tacoma TRD PRO before the 4Runner and it had both the wobble and pull. My wife's 18 4Runner developed wobble and pull, the dealer only made it worse. Alignment with Firestone fixed it.

I hope that fixes it for you. I sold my 4runner back to Toyota after 3 months because I refuse to drive a vehicle that pulls and wobbles. Service department told me there isn't anything wrong. Nope, bye Toyota.
I bought a 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 and love it. night and day difference.

After 3 years, I finally have a foreman/ supervisor at Toyota looking into the high vibration and pull to the right on my 2021 TRD prem 4 runner. Keep yall posted. I contacted Toyota directly. Think that’s what we all need to do to get Toyota on board with fixing the issue permanently.

Tire balance and alignment technicians come in degrees of experience and talent. I gave up on dealers performing tire balance and alignment. (Note: sometimes vehicles are sent to a local tire shop and not even done at dealership.)
I found removing all prior wheel weights before re-balance helps get best outcome.
Wheel lugs should be hand tightened with torque wrench-not their air gun.
Tires pressure should be within 1 lb of each other. Best accurate pressure reading early morning before sun shines and warms tires on sun side of vehicle.
Its hard to separate road vibration steering wheel shake from tire balance issues. Sometimes its a compound problem.
