    On passenger side, front of engine near the top. Square plate with gasket. I can't recall it's name.

    Everyone is wrong. That’s a flamshooter. Now it does connect to a thigamagig. But only on 5th gen’s.

    It’s just an inspection port or access to timing. Timing cover plate. :notsure:

    I believe it's the timing chain tensioner/inspection cover plate.

    That is the engine timing chain cover and the gasket in it is known to leak. Specially on older/high mileage 4runners.
    Very often confused with a timing cover leak.
    The gasket is $12 and the part number is 11328-31030.
    Replace gasket if leaking. Just 4 bolts. Use a torque wrench.
