I'm guessing it's a wiring issue and it cooked the control module(s).

Dude. You're killing me - leaving out that "just had it in for the 10K free service"... then that the 10k was done at different shop... then that the other shop is a Toyota dealership...

You're going to be fine. Toyota is paying for whatever went wrong. Well, unless it was caused by that headlight, foglight, camera work... in post #28

Starts to look like it. Wonder if dealer will replace. If the shop that did the lights and camera messed up.

How many add a fuses did they use and where did they tap power from? Those codes are suggesting electrical issue. I blew the ECU B fuse doing some other electrical stuff and had some of the same codes you’re getting. Add a fuses can fry your upstream wiring if installed incorrectly which could result in smoke. Runaway engine could also be possible if part of the communication with your ECU was severed after it was already running. Regardless, none of us can see it in person so you’ll need someone who can see it in person take a look (which it sounds like you’re doing)

Meh. They broke the oil filter drain tool in my housing. Patrick got a nice check for selling my insurance on a $9000 harness after rodent damage.

Either one can handle a warranty claim. If the root cause turns out to be a 10k service screw up, you'll be better off going with the servicing dealer though.

Wondering if this is a smoke machine running in an engine bay for a quick laugh and troll post but if not:

In case this isnt a troll post, and this actually happened to you, i will tell you a little story:
My 2008 Tacoma i ordered in December 2007, and received in March 2008, was my favorite unicorn that i babied and loved. I went in for my 25,000 mile oil change in February 2009 on a tuesday morning before leaving out for a trip the wife and i were going on. I made an appt and went in at 8:00 to get my oil changed, they took it in, put it on a lift, i could see it getting worked on, bam they knocked it out in like 30 mins and i paid and left. I was driving half way across town to my mini storage to pick up some things i needed for our trip and i hit a short straight-away on a street and i punched the throttle just to feel "whoopie" and the 2-3 shift the trans hung up or something happened and it didnt shift, it just sounded like rev limiter and went KABOOM and i could hear all sorts of thunking and plunking and clanking. I bumped the truck into neutral and rolled to a stop. I was only doing about 35-40 and rolled to a stop in about 200ft on the side of the road. There was smoke coming from under the truck when i jumped out and looked in thru the fender and could see something bad happened. There was a small puddle of oil under the truck, i'll get the pix, it was a small tiny puddle of black oil about the size of a coke can. The engine locked up, connecting rod broke and slung itself thru the block and oil pan and when it cut thru the oil pan the remaining oil leaked out. I was right at 6 miles away from the dealership when this happened.

I called the dealer and asked for service and said:
"Hey Bill this is Adam, you're gonna need to send a wrecker to get me"
    Bill then said
"What happened where are you at"
    I said
"Well Bill i'm over on Manor Drive and the engine just locked up and the crank is showing thru the oil pan"
This is the best part, Bill then said, and i will never forget this
"Just bring it back and we will check it out"
Bill didnt really register that i told him i could see inside my engine, from the outside of my engine so i had to tell him again
"Bill you are going to have to send a wrecker"

I waited a half hour or so for the wrecker and caught a ride with the wrecker to the dealer and then everyone realized what happened and things went weird. The tech forgot to put oil back in my engine when he changed the oil and it took about 6 miles and that short full throttle pull for it to lock up. Had i been easier on it, it might have lasted a few more miles but the lack of oil was the cause and effect.

The dealer pulled the truck in and tore it apart and eventually came back with the
"Your computer shows that it let go and you were at full throttle"
    I said
"Yep, i sure was, but it not having any oil in it was the reason it locked up"

They fought back and forth for about 40 days on whos fault it was cause they didnt wanna say it was their fault for no oil, and i was still within warranty, and i was threatening to get a lawyer if they didnt get my truck going again, so they claimed it on warranty and i got a new engine on my factory warranty since they didnt wanna claim it on their insurance since they were actually at fault.

Well crap i cant find the picture, its on my PC somewhere i saw it not long ago but i have been looking twenty mins and cant find it.

    Absolutely
It was about day 6 after they had it torn apart, that they went thru the computer to find out what the TPS was during the last few seconds of my previous run time. They told me the computer showed i was at 100% throttle when it let go and asked if i was racing it. It was 9:00 on a Tuesday morning. I told them where i was, as the tow bill would have shown on a 2 lane road in town, i couldnt have been racing it and if they didnt want me going 100% throttle then Toyota shouldnt have allowed the pedal to go to the carpet.
Then from day 10 to day 30 they were playing the silent game until i started getting mouthy about it taking so long. The insurance company dropped the rental after day 30, so i lost my rental and had to start hitching rides thats when i started getting pretty uppity about them needing to get it fixed fast. Eventually they claimed it on warranty and put in a new engine. The second engine was a little weaker than the first, and it actually smoked a little. As it grew older in life it created a yellowish stain on the white paint above the tail pipe from the oil it burned.

The plot thickens. Those codes are electrical faults.

it is quite insane that they were trying to deflect it on you.

No matter how they see it, not having oil in the engine would have been the issue 100% regardless of if you were full throttle, off roading, or even on a race track as if it mattered

Jeez…I’ve joked around about raptor lights causing 4runners to instantly catch fire and burn to the ground, but I wouldn’t expect it to literally lead to a an engine failure like this!

Hopefully that’s not the case in this situation. But now I’m paranoid about what I have modded. I have a gmrs radio and spotlights switched by a relay that is on a circuit in the footwell fusebox. I’d think that would be safe, but all those body control modules errors the OP has make me wonder about the possibilities…

    This is a good question.

In the picture provided, the bulk of the smoke kind of looks to be coming from the firewall area, drivers side.

I may have missed it scrolling through the install video but I didn't see anything about integrating a front camera as mentioned by the OP.

If they could have proved i was racing it, it would have (1) voided my warranty (2) ended their troubles of figuring out who to blame since their oil change guy forgot the oil

Dang, looks like professional work, but i cant see what the wiring looks like.
Do you know the difference between an oil smell and a wiring burning smell? Did you happen to catch which one yours smelled like?

I've had a look at the video, and the installation looks super professional!

The only thing that comes to my mind is the possibility that they may have hooked the "add-a-fuse" into the EFI circuit or one of the injector fuses, and the headlights caused some kind of "back-feed" or interference that fried the ECU.

Either way, mate, it's an unfortunate situation. The shop that did it should have insurance to cover these sort of claims as they come up, in case Toyota determines it was an electrical problem due to the install. Important thing is to get it in writing though from Toyota before seeking damages from the shop. Keep us posted mate, and fingers crossed you get this resolved quickly.

    Cheers,

    Sean
