Looking for someone that has the power socket(cigarette) up front under the A/C controls. Can you take a pic of what it looks like closed and with the cover open. I am looking to change out my USB-A dual ports to the socket but can't figure out item number for the plastic cover.

    thanks!

I think there may be a change mid-year. Check the production date of your vehicle.

awesome that looks like it should be it! I was able to get my hands on the actual socket that goes inside this cover. Hoping I have the correct socket. We will see

Why don't you want dual ports? I have been thinking about changing mine to the dual usb.

They are nice but all of my devices use usb-c to charge so I rather have the faster charging from the power socket with a plug in charger with dual usb-c plugs.

I have the 50W version that I use to charge my iPad, which I use for navigation, plus whatever the passenger has, usually another iPad or iPhone. Haven't had any issues with it yet. For reference I have had mine for almost year now.

I have a 50 watt , not Anker, with usb a and usb c in the console. It changes my s24+ extremely fast.

Although you can’t always believe the internet, shocking I know, but I thought I read a caution on using these adapters, as they may f—up the electronics - device and/or vehicle?

In the case of the 4Runner I don’t think so. It’s a pretty simple circuit. Battery to switch side of ACC relay to P/Outlet fuse to 3 power outlets.

@jev425 The combined capacity of the three stock power outlets is 120 watts. Not to overcomplicate things, but you might want to give your new power outlet its own circuit from the battery, through a fused relay (that is energized by a switched circuit) and then to your outlet. That way you add not only outlets, but capacity as well.

The 12V outlet I plug mine into has been rewired to be always on and is fused separately from the other 12V outlets.

Do you have anything plugged in. Is there excessive battery drain?

I haven't had any issues so far and I have had the iPad plugged in overnight along with my garmin inreach.

I haven't measured the wattage on mine yet. How are you measuring it?
