Hey all. My mom was diagnosed with GCA this week. Is anyone familiar with this?

A lot of info on the internet but just curious if anyone had any experience with this.

    Thanks,

    C

We see it in our office. Sed Rate and CRP (blood tests) to confirm along with Temp Artery biopsy. Did it knock her vision out? Prednisone will usually be prescribed regardless if there is vision loss or not.

Yes she lost vision completely in her left eye. They put her on a high dose of steroid in an effort to save the right eye. She is home now. Started reading about how there might be a connection between the Covid shot and GCA.

Vision might return......might not! Depends on how the body reacts! All GCA/TA we've seen is usually one sided or one eye involvement. There might be an association to the covid shots but difficult to determine the cause. Alot of things we've noticed with the Covid shots with the eyes but can't prove 'em...only theory!

IMO, covid shots messed up more than we'll know for a long time. Praying for your mom.

Not a doctor.....I've worked for an Ophthalmologist for 33 years now and seen GCA/TA many times over the years! Hopefully the info I gave you was helpful!

We should keep pushing for the real proof....then prosecute. I lost no one I know during the BS shutdown. No one even got that sick who caught it. Then the mandates happened. Now questioning over half a dozen co worker and friend deaths. I don't believe in a very rare medical affliction coincidence x hundreds of thousands.

It was. Maybe he'd had a few. I don't say that in a mean way, it just seemed like that.
