Ok. By this logic, now we need a ladder on all three sides. Or maybe this...

Not really. I think the idea is to climb onto the roof to access everything. But, I don't keep that much stuff on the roof, so I can't really say.

I just assume that some people must actually use them. And, not for RTT's, as those seem to have their own ladders.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

-4- ignorance - installing a "cold air" intake thinking it helps with hp, torque, mpg, cooling or that it is in ANY way better than the stock intake.

Good points! Aftermarket exhaust and intakes rarely increase anything other than noise. And V6's generally sound like shit with loud mufflers.

I am putting a ladder on mine, only to hold my trasheroo. I put some wag bags full of shit after car camping in my truck, double trash bagged, and then went backpacking for 3 nights. Entire truck smells of shit and 4 months later I finally got the shit smell out of 4runner.

I would have thought a snorkel might make the list. People in Florida look at mine with a certain amount of ridicule, for 9 months out of the year anyway. Until a cat 5 is brewing off the coast. Then the look of enlightenment is quite amusing.

    Gate ladder -
I have Thule roof box. I use it on every trip more than a couple days My wife and daughter do not pack lite! Plus the dog!

I use a small (two-rung) step ladder. I can bring with us (takes up little space). Also useful for loading bikes. AND … get this.. I can actually relocate ladder to wherever makes sense!

But yeah, no plans for rear gate ladder. Most time I need access it is to the sides, not rear.

I have a widdle wadder because it came with the rack. I've used it a few times getting the kayak set correctly before strapping down and for strapping down the Plano boxes on camping trips (wife, young kid, and dog take up a lot of inside space).

Edit: and getting the Christmas tree in the right spot

Could I get by without it? Of course. Is it useful 99% of the time? No. Has it been used in a useful manner? Yes

On some other forums that I read, people that install smoked tail lights complain about getting rear ended in heavy traffic.
Another one is, hot rodder's that install those tiny tail lights, complain about the same thing. DUH!!!

With the amount of distracted people on their phones and distractainment systems, I'd want brake lights just short of blinding. Heavy rain in Florida is the last place you want smokey lenses.

My 100lb dog! I’ll be installing a 3/4 rack for a long road trip for our cargo and was considering the ladder because my wife is 5ft. The ladder could help her if I’m not around to help. But the cargo area is reserved for my pup. Everyone has a different scenario which is why there are SOOO many accessories available for these rigs.

The new heritage grill is not slapping on a heritage grill….

How about we start to walk back heritage grills a little, before it becomes popular on the Corolla Cross
