Picked up OEM Oil filter, gonna do 5k 1st oil change tomorrow couple hundred miles early only because have to drive to Md. for viewing of family friend that had stroke & passed last week. Came out from breakfast & had lo tire press. warning. L/Frt @ 27psi other 3 @ 28psi the other 3 came up to 30 & that one was @ 29 when pulled into garage. Put them all @32psig. 1st time in almost a year of owning it. Guess they didn't like the 48f this morning.

My current DuraTracs were getting pretty loud and sloppy. I've had my eyes on the Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT for a while, because of their road manners/sound claims (and more or less match my DuraTrac LT spare.) Discount Tire was offering $80 off for buying online through an account until 10/14 (never seen on ANY promo on these before,) so I did it. Will see how it goes!

Had them on my previous Taco and thought they were better than KO2's. The only set back with these is questionable longevity, since they don't come with any mileage warranty.

@Pentangler I know! Borderline sketchy that warranty part, compared to A/T4W with 60/65k mile warranty for around the same price. How did yours hold up/last? -or did you sell the Taco before you could find out?

Mine are backwards on passenger side. I figure if a flag is moving forward it would face that way. Seems like common sense. Really surprised this convo is debated so much. But hey whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy I guess

Stock xfer case knob developed a bad rattle. Found my old 6-spd knob so I'm using that for now.

The OG 5th gen is a dying breed, especially the ones that are in good shape after all these years.

Changed a burned out low beam headlamp today. I almost went with cheaper auto store replacement but at the last minute decided to buy the expensive OEM from dealer. I got three because I figure the 2nd one isn't far behind and then I'll have a spare.

Considering I keep them on all the time, the OEM's lasted a long time. 5 years/70k

Did 1st oil change & aluminum filter bowl swap @ 4,823 because have to drive to Md tomorrow for friend viewing :-( .TRD Skid plate is different install then TRD OR, got good points vs the OR & bad that it doesn't hinge. 2 front bolts are a little bit PITA W/Spacer blocks. Put Mastinox on 4 bolt threads for ease of removal next oil change IF we get snow here this winter I HOPE love to try out new ATV plowing & go cruising in 4Runner W/unplowed roads!IMG_0277 (1).jpg

Installed some KSP Performance 1.5” spacers today and ordered a set of the Falken Rubitrek A/T from Discount Tire. Got a smoking deal at just under $750 out the door for all 4. Got a small credit for my current rear tires and a nice $50 discount for being a AAA member. Hopefully they’ll arrive early next week!

Do you happen to have the part # for the alum filter bowl?

I'm curious about this too. Love to find a way to reduce the dust accumulation inside. But I'd like to be a little more sure that the vent filters will work before dropping $$ on them...

I had the same thing happen to me. It’s a tab that broke. You can glue it back or just get an aftermarket one

I tried to take it apart. The tabs are brittle and it's really held together by glue. I ordered another knob, red carbon fiber. Hopefully it accents the rest of the carbon fiber and red stitching.

Those look great! How was the installation? I just got a set from Bamacar on Prime day to put on next week. My bug guy's wife has an embroidery machine, so I may have her do the red TRD in the headrest covers.

Over all install not too bad. They come with a little plastic pry tool. I had some others, so a few times i used more than one. Watch the video. I had help holding/stretching a few times. I laid some pieces in the sun to heat them up a bit too. The hooks that go under the front seat are a little challenging to attach. I thought about loosening up the bolts that hold the front seats down which would make it easier to see what you're doing under there.
