Why the hell would you jump to a completely new website for a new generation 4runner? Is it really that spectacularly redesigned?

Maybe they could make a 6G + Oil forum.

I can only imagine what oil change interval threads pop up for the 6th gen turbo and hybrids. I can see it now, like nostradamus - turbos need oil changed more often. So do hybrids because the ICE doesn't run as often. If you don't change in the first 500 miles for break in period and then every 2000 after it will burst into flames

Generation-specific forums tend to have a better UX from the home page into surface level threads, a better hierarchy structure, and more categorization. The node structure is built for only that generation so it's easier to navigate and find exactly what you're looking for. Parent nodes are built for literally every category and can be accessed from the home page whereas multi-generation forums lump all threads into one massive "general" list.

On the 4Runners.com list, you can see all threads lumped into one general cat.

On the 6G4R.com list, you can see each thread broken down into categories.

4Runners.com and T4R org are classics, and most won't steer away from them but for someone looking for only 6G content with an easier-to-navigate UI/UX - it's just another option. Also, there tends to be a lot of stubborn, hard headed 3g, 4g, 5g guys out there who just slam the hybrid powertrain which might be annoying for the guys that are super into the new powertrain. Not going to lie, I might be one of those guys. I've had a 2014 TEP, 2016 TEP, and now a 2023 SR5. Hard to leave a platform that's tried and true. lol. Regardless, it's just a place for people who want to be around other like minded people in the same head space.

Send some prayers that nothing happens to my 5th gen 4Runners so I don't have to downgrade to 6th gen 4Runner or 2024+ Land cruisers, etc..

I’ve heard rumors of sixth generation 4Runners. Eyewitness accounts scattered in different locations, even some photos, but apparently nobody’s actually driven one.

Does this Gen6-specific forum also offer threads for travel tips to Lochness, or the best baits for attracting Sasquatch? If so, sign me up!

OP just low key advertising for another 4runner forum trying to get people to move away from this one. Nothing more.

Not even sure why this thread keeps getting bumped.

I'm in the same boat. After seeing the 6th Gen in person, and comparing it to the 5th Gen, it's just more sensors and electrical to work around when doing mods. The engine bay looks like shit and there's little to no room for additional accessories like compressors, switch panels, dual batteries, etc. Bigger screen is nice but for the most part, I think the 5th Gen is a better long-term platform. Clearly much more reliable as well. 4.0 might be the last best motor Toyota ever makes.
