1st time 4Runner owner

We are a little late to the game with getting a 2024. When we decided to buy one, we found we were searching far and wide for a 4Runner with the options we were looking for, specifically the TRD ORP. Pretty much all the local dealers and those within a few hours do not have any in stock and if they do have some coming in, they are already spoken for. So when we found one, we drove over 4 hours one way to pick up our very first 4Runner this past Saturday. Got a black 2024 4Runner TRD ORP with the black wheels. Dealership was fantastic and fairly painless in the buying process. Obviously we put a deposit on it when we located it since we couldn't pick it up for a week. The calls coming into the dealership that week wanting the vehicle were coming from all over. Dealer didn't add any market adjustment $$, actually paid less than sticker.

What do I love it? While it is a rolling computer and there is a lot to learn about it, I love the simplistic look and the functions on the 4Runner i.e. dash, heat/ac controls, infotainment center, etc. Had a 2022 Ford F-150 and there was just so much going on on the infotainment center, wasn't a fan.

Now I am looking forward to the winter and seeing how this vehicle does in the snow!

You think your 4Runner is a rolling computer? Maybe a Commodore 64. Compared to any other new vehicle on the market the technology is ancient.... and blessedly so.

Oh I am so glad it is an ancient computer! And I am very well aware it is NOT like every model of vehicle out there that really are computers! lol F-150 was glitchy!

Don't get me wrong, I do really like my 2024 4Runner. It's a vehicle I have wanted for years. BUT, it's amazing how clean the dashboard and controls are on my wife's 2018 Tesla Model 3 compared to, in this case, my new 4Runner.
All the functions (95% at least) are already "onboard" or controlled by the touch screen on the Tesla. One sits in the drivers seat of the Tesla and the cabin is just so clean. I'm still after 4 months of ownership on my 4Runner learning how to do this and that and which button or dial does what. (And how much dust and crap collects on all those mechanisms) Again, not complaining....my 4Runner being like a Commodore Computer? Nah...the rear traffic warning when backing up is far superior on the 4Runner to the Tesla Model 3, which is nonexistent.

 

Dunlops? Not Bridgestones?
