So I did my 60,000 mile maintenance today following car Care nuts instruction. Came out fine except I'm hung up on this term trickle when you're using the check plug. It had started to trickle and had made the bend if you know what I mean on the bottom of the pan but it was not just individual drops and now I'm worried I left too much in

This is why I did a cold drain and fill.

I put in exactly as much as I took out.

"Trickle" is too ambiguous and hot wiring the OBD2 port with a paperclip is janky.

I think you will be fine, I wouldn't worry about it. But if it bothers you, do another drain and fill.

There’s a margin of error there, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Not sure how much fluid difference there will be between starting to trickle and actually individual drops.
